26 Hunter re-re-design

Recommended Posts

Earlier this week, I decided that I was fed up with the review pages on my site and decided to start from scratch with a whole new design. The reviews on my site will from this point forward be divided by system rather than manufacturer, and there will be a sidebar containing a history of each console along with technical specifications and a list of recommended games. I started by applying the new design to the review hub (where all new reviews are posted) and 26 Hunter, the Atari 2600 page.

Here's how 26 Hunter used to look...

Now here's the new design for the page...

I think the improvements are pretty obvious, but at the same time, I can't help but think that the new design could be even better. What would you suggest I do to tighten things up a bit?

Also, I'm thinking about reviewing a new batch of 2600 games, but I haven't decided on which ones to tackle first. Maybe I'll start a poll in another thread, or just start taking requests from other AtariAgers.

1. Wouldn't hurt.

2. You mean the screenshot of the author of the review? Yeah, it's pretty important. I did the bulk of the reviews on that page, so that's why my mug pops up so often. Russ Perry's got his pic next to his review, too.

Two atari 2600s at the top of the page is a bit silly. Perhaps an atari mountain or sprite rips might replace the smaller. Can the negative space around it's big brother be filled?

I can't find any way to tell what games you review on the page at a quick glance. They're out of order, but I feel guilty picking that nit, as this isn't a finished revision...
