MFoolsRun #1 Posted July 10, 2007 Hi, After years of being boxed up I finally have a set up permanent enough to set up my 2600 (from my reading apparently it is the woodgrain "Atari VCS - CX2600A", with the four switches on the front and two, plus channel chooser, on the top/back). I got it a few years back from an old woman who apparently kept it for her grand kids --it has a box (with one end torn off) and everything! I used the RCA-to-F adapter and an old VCR to make my connection and the system works great except for a constant buzzing sound of RF interference and a small amount of distortion on the screen. Again, from my reading on this site, apparently replacing the internal "RCA" (not really, but same shape) cable with a modern, shielded version could solve this problem. I took apart my system and tried to install a spare RCA I had lying around, but the plastic molded stress-relief proved to be too tall to be able to fit the cover back on the system. Is there a brand or a type of cable that typically works/fits in these cases? I have no talent with soldering, so making the RCA mod is not really an option. Thanks for the great site and I look forward to many happy hours of Atari because of it!
+Omegamatrix #2 Posted July 10, 2007 You must be using some real think monster cable or something, eh? Would a 90 degree adapter make the cord fit? Otherwise I would say just search these forums on how to mod an Atari.

Otherwise I would say just search these forums on how to mod an Atari. It's just a standard cable, not a Monster or anything. Like one of these: The 90-degree adapter will probably work, thanks!
