Largo2000 #1 Posted July 11, 2007 IF ANYONE WANTS TO SELL ME A KROKODILE CART (ATARI 2600 VCS), I AM OFFERING THE SUM OF $100.00 FOR IT. PLEASE EMAIL ME AT: [email protected] THANKS
ovalbugmann #2 Posted July 12, 2007 I think it's worth more than $100.00 dollars, dude. A lot more. Someone here on AA recently sold a bunch of Atari stuff on ebay because his wife told him to clean out the basement and he sold a similar type unit, not a Crok cart but a Cuttlefish Cart on ebay, it went for $355.00 man! So I don't suspect you will get ANY offers of a Crok cart for $100. So that someone comes forward with one, I would just say your looking for one and are willing to work with them on the price, then make them an offer. If it's too low they will let you know. Go a little higher then, if you can, or they may just tell you what they would like to get for it. You both may be able to reach a compromise. But, I wouldn't lowball Crok cart holders, because it's a prized piece. Just a thought. mimo #3 Posted July 12, 2007 As far as I know there are more Kroks in production, but they are very labour intensive (cart mods) so if you can be patient, there will be more. Shoot Al a PM in the store to register your want, and get on the waiting list
MausBoy #4 Posted July 12, 2007 It's pretty pathetic that there is no easy to find, cheap device like this, considering how popular retrogaming is/has been. I agree with Mimo, wait it out and it will happen eventually. I think newish stuff like Tivo, XBox 360, second life, etc has led to electronics nerds having way less time/desire to mess around with stuff like this though, so maybe you have the right idea... I understand where you are coming from. Perhaps you are right... If I can only get one for $350US+ then I will pass. The value really depends on future production of the card. Lets say it becomes available again, then your $350 card is now worth only $100! Plus you missed the chance of getting a brand new one. That is the rationale behind my offer anyway. I guess only the future can tell. But for $350, I am pretty sure I can get one in a fairly short time. I will let you guys know how it turns out! M. I just wish an admin would be able to give me a time frame regarding the next production of the Krok Card. This is so sweet. I am fairly new at retro gaming. Check this Cuttle Cart out: Schell's 7800 Cuttlefish cart That is a CC 2 which is far more desireable then the original Cuttle Cart. I would say the original CC is worth about $150-$200 depending on whats included. I own an original and would glady sell it for $355 but I know it is not worth that. The Krok carts were also a lot cheaper, I remember some guy getting a lot of grief because he was asking more than the original price for it ($140? can't remember)He ended up quitting Atariage over all the bashing he got because he was trying to make a small profit from it. I see nothing wrong with offering $100, he would probably get more offers with a $150 offer or so but $100 is not out of line or anything.

I recall that he was asking $120 and people were complaining about that. Honestly, I didn't see anything wrong with his asking price. While it's true that they were sold for $100, one had to get on a waiting list for several months or more just to have the opportunity to purchase one, so asking $20 for not having to wait seemed perfectly reasonable to me. It did not seem to me that he was trying to fleece the community. That dubious honor can go to another whose name I will not mention.
