BSA Starfire #1 Posted July 12, 2007 Anyone have a manual scan for this game? Just got it and have no idea what's going on. Also anyone have any advice on getting carts working? Have cleaned the contacts with alcohol but no good. Thanks in advance
2600Lives #2 Posted July 12, 2007 If you can get the cart apart without messing up the label (or breaking the cartridge), use a normal pencil eraser on the contacts. Gets 'em way cleaner than alcohol.
+Omegamatrix #3 Posted July 13, 2007 I couldn't find and instructions for Nightmare, but it is the same game as Panda's Stunt Man. Try using these instructions. http://www.atarimania.com/detail_soft.php?...7305&MENU=
Crazy Climber #4 Posted July 13, 2007 Also anyone have any advice on getting carts working? Have cleaned the contacts with alcohol but no good. Thanks in advance Is it not working at all? I'm just throwing out ideas but Nightmare is PAL format which could cause problems if you are in the US.
Prodos8 #5 Posted July 13, 2007 His user id suggests he's in the UK. So PAL is probably what he needs.
BSA Starfire #6 Posted July 13, 2007 Thanks folks! Those instructions helped. I am in the UK. Nightmare is working I just have a pile of other carts that don't work, Action man, pac man, yars revenge, F14 tomcat. All have had the contacts cleaned till they shine but still no play. Anything else I can do before consigning them to the bin? Best regards

Anything else I can do before consigning them to the bin? Never chuck 'em - we can repair or re-use them! If you really have no use for 'em I'll pay postage to save them from the bin. BSA Starfire #9 Posted July 13, 2007 Have you tried to clean the unit itself? A dirty cartridge port could be giving you all the grief. I have 80 odd games ,it's only these few that I can't get working. A friend suggested it may be dry solder joints in the carts. Does this sound like a reasonable possibility? If so can I just touch them up with an iron? Best regards

When mine gets dirty a few odd games won't work, but the others fire right up.
BSA Starfire #11 Posted July 14, 2007 Right, thanks both. I'll try the port and also test them on my 7800, thats near new so no dirt or wear on that. Best regards
