Fighter17 #26 Posted July 14, 2007 A few years back for me was Dragonball GT Final Bout for Playstation. I paid $280 when it was rare. Now its nothing but my copy has been gone for quite some time now. That really has to suck because it was reprinted. Why the hell Bandai release the game in the US with such small numbers? Not to mention it sucked hard. I paid $80 for a complete Metal Slug JP on the Neo-Geo CD.

8bitgamer #29 Posted July 14, 2007 $50.00 for Zaxxon for the ColecoVision back in 1982 or so. $55.00 for the Gamestop Resident Evil 4 special edition. http://brettweisswords.blogspot.com/

nintendo #31 Posted July 14, 2007 For a console game, over $200 for a complete copy of Snow Bros for the Mega Drive. For an arcade game, $692 including shipping. (Marvel Superheroes original dedicated cabinet with oversized marquee in great condition) My motto is 'You can always make more money'.
bust3dstr8 #32 Posted July 14, 2007 I paid about $125 each for Kaze Kiri and Eliminate Down. Eliminate Down....worth every penny.....Kaze Kiri.....eh
Quadhorn #33 Posted July 14, 2007 Ten or so years back I'm sure I paid up to £30 for a few Megadrive games (though I can't think which ones). Since then, never more than £20. Even the few slightly rare games I have (Mega-CD Snatcher, Saturn Panzer Dragoon Saga) I got buying consoles second-hand (Mega-CD and games £40) or was given free (Saturn + games). I have a few that cost more at the time (Megadrive Landstalker £50, a few PC games) but those I had as Christmas or birthday presents. Thinking about it, I think Dreamcast Shenmue II was £25. In the last decade, that would be the most expensive I've bought myself.

Michael_ #37 Posted July 14, 2007 Around $1.500 for a CIB Neo Turf Masters/Big Tournament Golf (NeoGeo). A couple of Atari 2600 games come close and I believe I paid something like $600+ for a copy of Ginka Fukei Densetsu Sapphire for my PCEngine. Funnily I only paid something like $12 for a copy of Darius Alpha (PCEngine) which is occasionally sold for around $1.000+ these days, so it´s not all bad... jpfalcon2003 #38 Posted July 15, 2007 $380.00 for one AND $300.00 for another. Both Atari items
SINGLE TOOTH #39 Posted July 15, 2007 Damn, you people have alot of cash to blow. Im jealous. THe most expensive single game I ever bought was Super Metriod. Sold my entire NES system with games for it back in '93ish at our garage sale. Nintendo games were extreme price. Paid like 70-80 dollar for that excellent game. DrLove0378 #40 Posted July 15, 2007 (edited) Most expensive single game BOUGHT NEW: GoldenEye 007 for Nintendo 64 ($70). Most expensive single USED game: M.U.S.H.A. (CIB) for Sega Genesis ($80). I must be crazy! I paid more for a Sega Genesis game, than I did for my Pac-Man upright and Ms. Pac-Man cocktail COMBINED. But of course, it's not just ANY game -- it's the best shmup on Genesis! EmOneGarand #41 Posted July 15, 2007 (edited) $87 for Protector SE for the Jag, I could justify it because of the BJL booter and Jag Free feature (though thats kinda nil since people can encrypt CD's now..) I just can't see myself spending over $200 on a game. I think the only games I'd be willing to spend that much on would be the worthwhiled NEOGEO AES carts. TheRedEye #44 Posted July 16, 2007 $1,000 for Super Mario's Wacky Worlds on the CD-i. Though, to be fair that was a group effort, and only $400 of it was mine.

zeropolis79 #47 Posted July 16, 2007 Super Mario Pinball was around $900 I beleive. Well worth it though, I play it any chance I get It always a hit at parties as well. Never heard of a Super Mario pinball before! My wife would go mad if I spent anywhere near those prices for games. The most for a single game though was £40 each for Zelda: Wind Waker and Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 3 brand new when they came out (seperate occasions). SINGLE TOOTH #48 Posted July 16, 2007 $99 for Street Fighter 2 for the SNES. ???? Why so much? That was the first game I bought for my SNES but it was used. They still wanted like $50. Yeah this bar here used to have Super Mario Pinball. .. It was bad-ass.
Vic George 2K3 #49 Posted July 16, 2007 $80 for Nintendo 64 games the first year that they came out, as far as I can remember. Before that, it was $75 for SNES Doom and $70 for Donkey Kong Country for SNES.
NE146 #50 Posted July 16, 2007 $99 for Street Fighter 2 for the SNES. ???? Why so much? Because.. that's how much it was in my part of the world. I actually had the Super Famicom Street Fighter 2 which I bought for normal price. Then once the u.s. version came out I had to have it since it was in english of course. And since it was all the hype at the time, the stores that sold u.s. games were gouging. I didn't care. I wanted it . So, yeah... 99 bucks
