BydoEmpire #77 Posted December 14, 2007 I paid somewhere in the neighborhood of $70 to import Shenmue II on the Dreamcast right when it came out. The game was alright, but it proved to be a bad decision when they released the game on the Xbox, and then that version of it promptly dropped to $10 or less. And i had the game in a CD tower next to the entertainment center at our last apartment...maintenance guy kicked it as he was walking by, broke BOTH double jewel cases on it. Of all the games to break, it had to be Shenmue II. I overpaid, and now it's not even in perfect condition anymore. That sucks. I imported Shenmue 2 for DC also, but I swear I got it for $50 from EB (with the boot disc). My memory is a bit fuzzy, maybe it was more. Loved the game, though, and definitely got my money's worth. I ended up buying it again for xbox when it became cheap, but I never played through that version.
phaxda #78 Posted December 14, 2007 I bought a 5200 lot from a fellow AtariAger for $120 because they had a copy of Meteorites in there with it. That's the most I've ever paid to get my hands on one game, though I will often spend $25-30 on eBay if it's a lot with something I like in it. I am assuming that multicarts don't count as a "game," but those are by far my most expensive gaming purchases. And worth ever penny, I might add. chris_lynx1989 #80 Posted December 14, 2007 The most I paid was $400 and $ 200 USD,respectively, when Igot a pair of very rare games that were offered to me 8 yrs ago.I'd do it again too, considering their rarity and historical value in the Atari world scheme of things.Heh,was asked to sell one last month by a guy for whatever I said I wanted for it!They wanted it THAT bad.Must be exceedingly valuable out there now.I was tempted to sell. The money wouldn't have changed my life though. But,I was tempted by "I'll give you anything you want for it"

chris_lynx1989 #83 Posted December 15, 2007 But,I Iike dropping A Bombs like that without giving game names.Man,you're no fun at all,are you. Oh,all right. It was for Relief Pitcher and Eye of the Beholder for the Lynx.RP was 1 of 2 that Images Software/Atari had burned in 1993.And EotB was 1 of 6 that were possibly burned in 1993 by NuFX/Atari.I guess, that's what makes them very rare and desirable to some Lynx fans out there. Who can really say,you know. It might be junk to some, and possibly treasure or the holy grail to someone else.
masschamber #84 Posted December 16, 2007 most I've ever payed is 180 dollars for samurai spirits 4, second most was 130 for Sengoku 3 (smart move on my part considering how much copies have been going for lately) Matrimelee, and SVC chaos, but that comes with the territory for neo geo games for normal classic systems the most I've paid is 15 dollars for megaman 6, and 3 or 4 nes games I've paid 10 dollars for as far as atari stuff goes the most I've paid is I think 5 dollars for star wars arcade (and I don't regret it for a second) after that I think the most I've spent on any clasic atari, colecovision, or intellivision and what not is 3 dollars, and that includes rarities like death trap and dig dug for the Intellivision, Garage sales, junk store and flea markets + classic gaming = win! rjchamp3 #85 Posted December 16, 2007 I paid over 60.00 for Castlevania Dracula X for SNES Well worth it
Noize #86 Posted December 18, 2007 I would say Guitar Hero 1 and Guitar Hero 2 for the PS2. Bought both with guitars to have 2 when friends come over (+ my wife love the game too). About $100 each. I also remember paying $100 at Toys'r'Us for Final Fantasy III when it was released over here (Canada) on the SNES. But aside from that, I don't think I've ever paid more than $70 for a single game. Ghost Soldier #87 Posted December 18, 2007 Recently paid 110 for Guitar Hero III w/wireless guitar for the 360. I bought all the SNES RPG's back when they where new. I think chrono trigger ran 80 and Final Fantasy III was 70.
