+Cafeman #26 Posted June 11, 2009 I've owned it for 2 months or so and last night finally started to play Burnout Paradise! I get lost racing! The map seems huge. After winning a few events, I got a stunt car and enjoyed breaking thru shortcuts, doing big jumps and trying to wreck the Burout Paradise red signs - must have spent 2 hours just doing that. My mind boggles at the difference between Atari 2600 Night Driver and games like this one, which basically cost about the same. Anyway, not much to say other than this - at first I thought they ruined this series by going for a free city approach, but now I see it was a superb and innovative decision that really boosts (snicker) the fun. I love this title. Like you at first I didn't really think it was as good as some of the others I had played (I do still miss the online crash courses) but after spending some time with it, I think it might be my favorite Burnout. Really well done, and well supported. They recently released yet another expansion. A new island you can unlock called Big Surf Island which includes: * The Dust Storm Buggy available to drive straight away * 8 Incredible New Cars to Win * 15 Events (Including all New Island Tours) * 10 Freeburn Challenges * 12 New Roads to Rule * 75 Island Smashes * 45 Island Billboards * 15 Island Mega Jumps
cimerians #28 Posted June 11, 2009 Yup I think I'll buy the island since it features a new license for single player. Anyone try cops n robbers? I thought I would buy it but it seems its really only for multiplayer, I dont know.
+HammR25 #29 Posted June 11, 2009 The map seems huge until you start to learn where everything is. I hadn't realized they had released the Island expansion. I'll have to go check it out. I got Burnout Revenge in the mail yesterday and so far I like Burnout Paradise a lot better. It's a lot more polished.
