First Game You Beat?

Recommended Posts

Because we could use some inspirational stories around here. Tell us about the first Jaguar game you played through to the end - what kept you playing, what stood in your way, what did you think of the trip?

Wolf 3D was the first Jag game I ever beat.

I still remember the first time I played Wolf 3D on the Jag, blew my mind :D

I still love playing it!

I would like to finish Cybermorph and ThemePark!

Alien vs. Predator. With a frat house full of astonished jaw-dropping onlookers who couldn't get over how much the graphics looked like a "movie." It took me about 6 hours to complete the Marine mode. What kept me playing were the incredible graphics, incredible depth of play, incredible ambiance of the game, how freaking scary and FUN it was (everyone was jumping every time an alien suprised us). What stood in my way? Plenty of aliens and predators! The trip was the greatest experience upto then and ever since (still) that I had ever had with a video game. Though it's never quite the same after the first time you play it, although someone who experiences it for the first time today, instead of back in the day, will never get to experience how cool it really was back then, when it was THE game on any system or computer at the time, nothing compared to the atmosphere and thrills and overall experence of AvP when it first came out. I pitty those that didn't get to experience it for the first time back in '94. And although I was completely overwhelmed and enthralled with Halo the first time I played it on the Xbox, it STILL didn't match the experience I had playing AvP on the Jaguar back in the day. It was the first TRUE "killer-app" for me.

I think once you see the tasks put to you in the higher levels of Cybermorph,

you'll see why we all love it. It gets better level by level.

Also the first game I beat and it did not take long as I could not put the controller down.

Iron Soldier - I was so addicted it wasn't even funny. I had so much fun with that game. I tink it took me about a week or two because I was busy with college and work at the time.

I still go back and play it because I have all of the weapons unlocked.

The first game I beat, was as stated AvP, the second was Iron Soldier and the third was Cybermorph. 3 of the 4 games I got when I first bought the Jaguar, so I had them all at once and had to choose which to complete first, though I did check them all out. The 4th game was unfortunately Checkered Flag; if it had been the Virtua Racing killer it was SUPPOSED to be, it would have been the first game I would have completed, being a racer fan first and foremost. I was completely impressed with the other three, as were all my friends.

The ONLY Jaguar game I've ever beat was Ultra Vortek. To be honest, I don't think I ever sat down long enough to try to beat any of the other ones. They're all good... but I just never have the time anymore! :(

Kasumi Ninja was the first for me. I was able to become a ninja god. It's not the greatest game in the world, but the goofy text at the end made the whole game worth it.

Ultra Vortek, with Buzzsaw, I always play as Buzzsaw lol..

That's funny, I ALMOST always play as Dredlock, as I learned to use his staff/blade really good and if I can start to pull off this one move, the other fighter never gets a chance to recover. I do play other characters, but I always end up going back to Dredlock to kick butt and take no prisoners, I love his decapitation move with his staff/blade! I really like Buzzsaw too though, he's the one I use second most, he's got some cool special moves too.
