sciarpo #1 Posted July 17, 2007 Got a joypad for $20. Can't wait to try it, the prolines are painful. Is it common to find a joypad for that price?
Atarifever #2 Posted July 17, 2007 Got a joypad for $20. Can't wait to try it, the prolines are painful. Is it common to find a joypad for that price? That's a pretty normal price in my experience (it's $25-30 I think in online stores, so probably $20 is about the ebay price, that's just a guess). I don't understand why people think the prolines are painful; I love them. I don't use my joypad for most games, as they aren't very exact. In Impossible Mission for example, I find pressing right sometimes counts as "up" and before you know it, rather than running right I ride the elevator up to be fried by a robot. It works very well for Midnight Mutants and Double Dragon though (I don't play Double Dragon without it now).
PsychedelicShaman #3 Posted July 18, 2007 The joypads for me were a letdown, they aren't very comfortable, and I usually never have a problem with the prolines anyway. I'd rather use the prolines, but here's to a better experience for you

IF you ever want more of them Best Electronics bought out Atari in Europe of there parts about 10 years ago and has tons of the cx78 joypads new old stock. They sell them for $15 USD each. Only catch is Best Electronics has a minimum order of like $50 bucks or you have to pay a $3 dollar processing fee, But I doubt you will find it hard to spend $50 bucks when you see all the cool stuff they have to sell. IMO, the joypads are the only way to go on the 7800 for a game that requires two controllers. I had high hopes for the prolines when I first got them, but was sorely disappointed. If I don't need a second fire button, I use the 2600 controller. Best Electronics does have an order minimum, but it is not $50. I just spent $35 there for something, and that's all. I think the minimum might be $15. ... just looked. Minimum credit card sale is $20. Edited July 19, 2007 by Brian R.

Nothing wrong with a cc if you pay it in full when you get the bill. And it helps to build your credit history. If you're worried, get one with a low limit. ... you can also use a debit card, I'd think.
