8th lutz #1 Posted July 17, 2007 http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/17/peter-mo...y-don-mattrick/ Microsoft has announced the resignation of Peter Moore, current corporate vice president of the company's Interactive Entertainment Business. Moore will be replaced by former EA president Don Mattrick, who will become senior vice president of IEB on July 30. Mattrick joined Microsoft in February as a "strategic adviser." Moore will remain with Microsoft through August, and then will return to his old stomping grounds in Northern California to begin a new, unspecified job in the games industry. Earlier today, 1UP cited a rumor that Moore was headed to EA Sports. Update: The rumor has been confirmed. Moore has left Microsoft in order to return his family to the Bay Area and head EA Sports. Joystiq has a scheduled call with Microsoft later today. We'll bring you updates as they become available.

EA seems to also be very Wii heavy, i hope that doesn't change once he heads that direction (though he seems very supportive of wii, especially his children). ah well, if the rumor is true about EA at least he isn't being "demoted" per say as EA is probably more of a powerhouse than the Xbox devision is. best of luck to him. Lord Helmet #12 Posted July 18, 2007 Interesting. Maybe he can turn EA Sports into something interesting instead of a development house that hasn't released anything groundbreaking since 1994 (and I actually enjoy a good sports game every once in a while).
