froggerfreak #1 Posted July 18, 2007 Ok, about 10 years ago I had downloaded this neat app (an .exe) that had it all, something like 35-70 (?) games including Ghosts 'n' Goblins, Centipede, Burgertime, Frogger, etc... all the great arcade classics; I didn't need to install "roms" or anything complicated, it was a standalone deal I found on eMule or Kazaa...anyone know where I can find that same one today? I'm clueless about installing roms and all that stuff...even checked out Mame sites and can't figure it out...help!!!!
Segataritensoftii #2 Posted July 18, 2007 Aren't you talking about torrents? The forum rules say pirating is not OK. However, I'm sure you can find some of the games you're looking for. Check out some of the arcade collections from Namco or Atari. You might find a few of the games you played from that collection.
+Random Terrain #3 Posted July 18, 2007 I don't get what is so hard about 'installing' ROMs? Most emulators I have used just tell you to throw the ROMs in a certain folder, then you run the emulator and all of the games are sitting there ready to play. All you have to do is click on the name of the game and you're ready to play.
carmel_andrews #4 Posted July 19, 2007 froggerfreak...Are you using mame (or some other multi arcade machine emu) if you are, more likely then not, in the directory that contains the emu. there should be a 'roms' directory/folder, just stick or move any or all roms to that folder and if the emu has a config/ini file (similar to a text file) open it up with wordpad/ms word etc and somewhere in the document is should have a line that says Rom: (or Roms) D:\roms (or whatever), just replace the drive etter and path to the drive letter and location of the new rom directory i.e. Roms: E:\Emu\mame\Roms when you load up the emu, it should locate and load up your roms and you can play the games
