Yobo FC vs. FC Twin vs. Poly 2-Which is best for my NES collection?

Recommended Posts

Got a pic of that particular Famiclone?

Here we go, this is the one I've got, mine is the silver one. The pic doesn't really show it, but the rear side of the top of the unit has the Hyperkin logo (the same place as the Yobo one).

This is, by the way, about the best deal you can get on these that I have found.

Oh, yeah, I remember seeing this one looking for a Nintendo-Brand top-loader at a reasonable price(I can't find one for anything less than $70 Canadian).

hi

the fc twin uses the controller connector for the snes to play the nes games.

so

will the snes light guns (konami justifier or superscope bazooka thing) work on the nes light gun games?

anybody?

Dead thread, I know, but I didn't notice Raskar's question. I really don't think it can use those controllers since I heard that they don't work the same way as a NES Zapper. Hopefully, I can get a spare Zapper and wire it to a SNES extension cable and try to get it to work. I just got an FC Twin yesterday so I can test that out. And, in case this hasn't been mentioned or if nobody noticed, the NOAC in the FC Twin has been FIXED(audio-wise, at least). Yes, the NOAC in the FC Twin(the new ones with the Yobo jewel in the back) has been revised and now, every game sounds exactly like it should, except that the triangle wave is a bit too quiet and the volume jumps around in Gradius when you destroy the Core at the end of every stage. This makes me wonder if Yobo's FC Game Console also has that revised NOAC. I'd like it if people who just recently purchased a Yobo FC Game Console give me some feedback on how the sound is on your system. This makes me want to put up a comparisson video on YouTube as proof that the games sound exactly like on original Nintendo hardware, so keep your eyes out for the video to show up. BUT, still no Castlevania III(no intro, corrupt graphics, then it crashes after the introduction you see before the first stage, you can hear the audio, though) or Rad Racer II(garbled gray screen). The carts are all clean, by the way(except that Rad Racer II is in pretty bad shape, some pins are missing). Something I'd like someone to try is if they have Akumajou Densetsu and a Famicom-NES converter to see if the VRC 6 chip in the game works. Only expansion chip I confirm to be functional so far is Konami's VRC 4, used in Gradius II(Japanese-only).

I thought about getting an FC Twin. But my SNES and NES are still working great. I just picked up a 2nd NES console at a thrift for $1.75. Why buya knock off when you can still find the real deals for cheap?

Real deals for cheap, yeah, right. I can't find top-loaders here and they're expensive as hell on eBay and the SNES Mini I brought back for an exchange at that place was defective(crackling audio no matter what type of A/V cable I used). So, this was a win-win for me, loving this unit. Even with the loss of 3 games(Duck Hunt, Castlevania III and Rad Racer II), I couldn't care less. That's why I have a front-loader as backup.

Actually, guess what, Rad Racer II works, but with corrupt graphics. Still playable though, but it looks like $#!^
