AtariMan1976 #1 Posted July 23, 2007 (edited) About a year ago, i received a Super Nintendo system and i had it for awhile before i checked it out. When i finally got around to it, i found that it does power on with the red led but the screen goes black no matter what game i put in. Is there something i should check? SINGLE TOOTH #2 Posted July 23, 2007 You better check yo'self. Just kidding. I dunno, are the games swabbed good? Maybe the system needs a good beating, um, I mean swabbing. Cleaning Kit?
Bruce Tomlin #3 Posted July 25, 2007 It could just be dead. But don't throw it away, at least some (many? all?) units have a removable slot, just like the old NES, and a dead unit's slot will have less wear and tear. It just takes a gamebit to open it up and pop it off. Of course I haven't heard much about SNES slots going bad, so this may not be all that useful. Hell, if it's got an un-yellowed shell, that's worth it just to bling up a faded unit.
