Bryan #5 Posted July 25, 2007 Johnny 5 is alive!...and on eBay? I think that violates ebay's auction rules.
poker_plus #6 Posted July 25, 2007 I'll buy it if Steve Guttenberg personally delivers it. Would you settle for El DeBarge? He's available.
Bill Brasky #7 Posted July 25, 2007 I'll buy it and use it to make Short Circuit 3, a low budget hard-core porn movie. Universal will buy the film from me for millions just to keep me from releasing it.

edman87k5 #9 Posted July 26, 2007 And I thought ebay fees were high! 20% buyers premium!!!!!
jetset #10 Posted July 26, 2007 Think it could be modded to play 2600 games?
horseboy #11 Posted July 26, 2007 Think it could be modded to play 2600 games? Maybe, but he probably wouldn't be very good at them.
+FujiSkunk #12 Posted July 26, 2007 Anybody who ever suspected eBay was going after inflating shipping costs only because it impacted their fee collection just got iron-clad proof right here. A "buyer's premium"? WTF??
SRGilbert #13 Posted July 27, 2007 So basically what they are saying is that whatever the winning bid is, were gonna jack it up by 20%? What a rip off, plus I like the "Buyer to pay all shipping costs, to be determined after the auction." BULLSHIT! I guess this falls under the, "If you have to ask, you can't afford it." Would they even bother using the existing props if they did make a SS3? Or would they just CGI everything?
BuddyBuddies #15 Posted July 27, 2007 LOL,i could build one for less than 10k!!!!!!! io would not buy that.......
lemoncurry #16 Posted July 27, 2007 Buyer's premiums are de rigueur in live auctions... But they suck anyway!

Would they even bother using the existing props if they did make a SS3? Or would they just CGI everything? I'm pretty sure they would just ruin it with CGI. I mean why use real robot's? That would make too much sense for hollywood to go with especially seeing as it's a proven method with the other 2 films.

I thought the CGI for the robots was absolutely amazing. Although to get the kind of funding to make Johnny 5 look good he would probably have to take on the Terminator or something and in the process blow up a lot of stuff a la Michael Bay. Math You #19 Posted July 28, 2007 Would you settle for El DeBarge? He's available. They asked him, but he just said "who's Johnny?" and smiled in his special way...
