8-Bit Grandmaster Tournament

Recommended Posts

In case anyone here doesn't read the Atari 2600 forume, after a recent chess match I held between the Atari 2600 and my own computer, I've decided to organize an 8-Bit chess tournament to decide once and for all which computer (or at least, program) is the smartest! However, since I'm not terribly familiar with a number of 8-bit machines that are out there, I figured I'd ask here in case anyone can point me in the direction of some chess programs that I don't currently know of. The full list of what I currently have included in the tournament is in this thread over in the Atari 2600 forum. I already have entries for the Atari 2600, NES, Lynx, Intellivision, Arcadia 2001, Sega Master System, C-64, and a ton from the Atari 8-bit computers. I also know of chess programs for the Gameboy, Coleco Vision, and Game Gear that I am still trying to find. What I'm looking for is representation from the other 8-bit computers and systems so I can make the tournament as broad as possible. Specifically, I'm looking for programs for the Vic-20, TRS-80, TI-99/4a, Apple II, and any other systems that don't yet have an entry in the tournament. I don't want to have to leave out any systems, so make sure your favorite system is represented!
