Hello all,

 

It's been a few months since I've posted any updates to the 2600 games I've been working on (Rip Off, Wizard of Wor and the hinted-at port of Moon Cresta) so I thought I would take this opportunity to shed some light on their current status. Unfortunately, I will not be finishing these games any time soon due to some major changes in my personal life. I hope that once things have settled down I will be able to focus more on these fun distractions.

 

With that said, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Nathan and Bob D. for all of their help with the graphics and sounds as all 3 games are shaping up very nicely (dare I say rivaling the fantastic work they did on Lady Bug). I would also like to thank everyone here at AtariAge that have supported my efforts with their suggestions and enthusiasm.

 

One thing is for sure - I really enjoy making these games and plan on returning to them someday.

Hi John,

Sure a pity that the 2600 will have to wait some before being graced with more of your masterpieces, but we all now that real life takes priority!

Whatever the reason for your break may be, one thing's for certain - Lady Luck is always waiting behind some corners, it just takes her some time to turn the right doors..

Awww, Johnny WC! Well we all know that life happens... I remember getting to meet you in person at a past CGE show... Great guy, very talented. are there any screenshots or bin of moon cresta? It´s one of my fav shmup´s - galaxian type, It would be great a conversion for 2600 or 7800.

anyway, there is no hurry, we have 2 great games: CoM and Lady bug

Once I get some more of the sprites done for Moon Cresta, I'll post them here (with John's permission, of course). I'll say this much though - John's managed to pack some nifty graphic tricks into the kernel so far.

Splendid! Glad to hear you're doing the graphics for this one. Whenever a great programmer and artist pairs up, great things happen!

 

I hope John won't be away too long that I disappear myself before he returns though.
