Cybergoth #2 Posted July 31, 2007 You really think someone will buy these for $15.000? I bet You wouldn't find a buyer for $1.500, so I guess it's just some weird way to show off a collection.

+FujiSkunk #8 Posted July 31, 2007 (edited) Very impressive collection, but not worth the asking price. I bet You wouldn't find a buyer for $1.500... Actually for $1,500 I would think very seriously about that collection, if I had the room to store it and the time to sort through it all. Maybe even $2,000. That would be about as high as I'd go, though. Edit: Hmm, actually these seem to be mostly Windows 98 and modern-era games, while I would want more games from the DOS era. That would knock my price range down a bit. Edited July 31, 2007 by skunkworx
Atarifever #9 Posted July 31, 2007 (edited) "Either the games go or I go!" ? I say call her bluff Over PC games? I mean, console games or arcade cabinates, sure. But computer games? I'd already have to be looking for an excuse to break it off to call the bluff there, and even then I'd think it a pretty poor excuse. They're not even real games. But, there is prinicpal involved and a point to be made. First the PC games, then the DVD collection, all those tools you never use in the shed, and next it'll be the porn stash. I'll be married sometime in 2008 and I'll tell you right now that if it comes down to "Either (insert collection) goes or I go!", I'll be putting my big size 8 foot down with the utmost authority. Artlover #11 Posted July 31, 2007 Come again? You over-react with your assessment of those 44 games for $68 deal with less actual issues then you made it out to seem. Ignoring that even if you just didn't even factor in the 7 games you have issues with, that's still 37 games for $68 which comes out to a wopping $1.84 each. A steal no matter how you look at it, especialy if we look at it compared to your own auction here with an outrageous starting bid and even more outrageous BIN. 850 games with a starting bid of $7,500? $8.83 each. And at $15,000, it's $17.65 each. You do know you can buy many of these CNIB from the bargin bins of Compusa and simmilar places for like $4.95. Worth $30,000? Fairly modern PC games are not really collectable. Also, what you paid new back in the days doesn't transfer to what it's worth now. Honestly, it's not worth more then $1,500-$1,600. Of course, as I've always said, it's the sellers stuff and they can sell it for whatever they want. But the rest of us don't have to be happy about it, or close our eyes and ignore a rip-off in the making.

But the rest of us don't have to be happy about it, or close our eyes and ignore a rip-off in the making. And of course we don't even have to bid on it. I see overpriced stuff like this on craigslist plenty of times. Like a modded Xbox with "every game on it" for $400. I wonder if anyone even sells stuff at those kinds of prices? On the positive side, she's become a gamer herself over the last few years, and has her own little collection, and a pink DS (and she claimed the Gamecube as exclusively hers), so she probably won't be demanding the preexisiting system go.
