Hopefully Dragon Quest 5 and 6 will make it to the states.

 

The only way for a North American gamer to play them in the past was by using an emulator and download the roms.

I never did the download thing so this is awesome news! I love the Dragon Warrior/Quest series... 4,5 and 6 will be great.... they better have a North American release!

Dragon Warrior 4 is friggin awesome. And expensive, so I welcome this rerelease with open arms.

i just hope to god that Enix will release these with the original versions still intact. No one ever does this and I certainly don't expect it, but I prefer games in their original 8 bit-ness when possible

DQ4 was put on the NES. There were plans for a release to the PSX but that was canned. If anyone has Dragon Quest 7, you can even see it advertised in the manual!

I do believe that it was re-released in Japan for the PSX though.
