super nintendo arcade machine?

Recommended Posts

yesterday night i was a a drive in theather and saw a snes arcade machine!!! the games it had were super mario world, dub-zero, and super tennis. The controllers were shaped as giant snes controller and the cabinet had a picture of a man's face with the eyes covered by a snes controller. Has anyone else seen this?

Yes, its basically like the PlayChoice 10 (NES Arcade) but with very few games made for it, IIRC its fairly rare. I'm not sure if it features the "pay for time' style of the PC-10.

these are rare? I wonder if it would be worth my time to try to "convince" my wife's uncle to sell it to me.

It's rare that anyone wants one, too. ;)

It's not compatibile with regular SNES carts and there aren't very many arcade carts for it, so they don't tend to fetch much $ unless they're brand new in the box or something.

We had one of those in my college dorm's cafeteria, back when the SNES was still fairly marketable (1994-ish). Nobody ever played it.

With a little help, just like the PC10, it can take retail carts ;)

I've seen some woman who can, too. Don't want anything to do with them, either. ;)

I'd rather stick a SNES in an arcade cab with proper arcade controls, thanks. ;)

Strange atari5200 because this machine had f-zero instead of adam's family

It's not strange, The games were interchangable.

Think of it like a big cartridge based home system, except instead of cartridges, you just had the bare boards (individual games) that could be inserted into slots on the backplane.
