Paul Humbug #76 Posted August 9, 2007 (edited) Okay, Im listening.........what is A Sprites eternal library of good games for GBA? I think I'm the only one here bored enough to try to play every Gameboy game ever made... Here's one - youth violence caused by militant nationalists. Super Dodge Ball Advance is like the week after a World Cup, in your hands. Show your hometown pride, and eliminate all pretenders. Their home towns are just pale imitations of your real thing... Wow, interesting reviews. I missed it completely on the other systems until now. You pulled a good one from the basket. Somehow, it reminds me a little on Beach Volleyball for the Amiga. Paul Humbug #77 Posted August 10, 2007 Bubble Bobble and Boulderdash. I saw they are available. Still fun, more fun or better to be played on the C64 emu?
XCALBR8 #78 Posted August 11, 2007 Some of my faves on my GBA are old SNES games. I love Donkey Kong Country, F-Zero, Super Street Fighter 2, Contra III, Final Fight One, etc. Pinball of the Dead is also a classic video pinball game reminiscent of Devil's Crush/Alien Crush on the TG-16. I also agree that the Zelda and Metroid games on GBA are top notch. I also love the Castlevania games. Overall the GBA is a great little system, have fun collecting for it. A Sprite #79 Posted August 11, 2007 (edited) Bubble Bobble and Boulderdash. I saw they are available. Still fun, more fun or better to be played on the C64 emu? I haven't tried the C64 emulator. The free remakes of those two games are fun, but Bubble Bobble is incomplete. In commercial release, Bubble Bobble New and Old is the same game with an altered graphics mode. I highly recommend Boulderdash EX - it's actually an official sequel. containing new gameplay techniques like rotating the entire screen to alter the effects of gravity. I can confirm, Boulderdash EX is worth its money. Also, Mario Cart Super Circuit got me hooked. I just can imagine what I missed out of great gameplay on Nintendos the past 2 decades. Paul Humbug #81 Posted August 15, 2007 Okay, speaking of collecting.... I had a look into the Classic NES series carts and I wonder why do they, esp. Super Mario Bros, sell for ridicilous 60 or even 99 bucks new. Is this series limited edition?

Super Mario Bros, sell for ridicilous 60 or even 99 bucks new. Is this series limited edition? ? Odd. They sell for 10 bucks over here, and still aren't worth it. Why so? They are all single 8 bit NES ports, no extras, on a lower resolution 32 bit machine. Super Mario Bros for gameboy color added extra modes and is cheaper. NES Metroid was previously a free unlockable offered by Nintendo on the same platform, in Metroid Fusion. Other rereleases of NES games offer 3 on a cart. (Capcom Mini Mix) Enhanced graphics and sound. (Final Fantasy 1&2 : Dawn oif Souls...and believe it or not, Super Mario Bros 2, and Super Mario BrosL3, both of which contain an enhanced version of the original Mario Bros.) Nintendo made a quick cash run on the collector's market. It's one of the most shameless attempts ever made. Best to admire it from a distance... Still wondering why they are already so damn expensive on the net. I got my M3 lite this week and today I managed to feed it with NES ROM. I have to say, Super Mario runs and looks and sounds in PocketNES very well, I cannot tell differences. I am still willing to buy the Classic NES series for initial release price but not for what I encounter.
Paul Humbug #86 Posted August 17, 2007 If I were to pick up one GTA style game, which one lives up to the PSX experience best? GTA or Payback? I am asking because I heard good thinks about Payback in general, but would love to hear from GBA insiders.
A Sprite #87 Posted August 18, 2007 (edited) I played Payback for the first time today. 1st reaction: My cart doesn't work. *(%^&* Crime spree follows as I emulate. Second reaction: My emulator must not be working either. The textures are sub Atari up close. Think a lego version of TV with snow static, only it's made of jello. Add to that, people made out of paper, with bad controls -you use the d-pad to steer, and a button to move foward...I missed GTA Advance while playing, and I didn't think that was possible. Your mileage may vary- it's worth giving it a shot. The nonGBA versions received great reviews. Edited August 18, 2007 by A Sprite
Paul Humbug #88 Posted August 23, 2007 A sprite, thanks for the PM. I cannot respond to it, I dont know why. Always I get an error. Regarding the gaming: Im busy right now with a couple of games. I want to finish Astroboy, Boulderdash EX, Top Spin 2 and Mario Kart before moving on. I also took a chance and got Driver2 to play. It might technically not the best game for this machine, but it keeps me interested so much, that I finally want to get the original Driver for PC, I missed in the 90ties. Gaming a lot doesnt mean Im not reading here, feel free to introduce me to the wonderful world of Donkey Kong games. Remember, I missed everything and then some, be it NES, SNES, SEGA........ Ryanw #89 Posted August 24, 2007 (edited) I highly recommend all the Donkey Kong country games! The graphics are great for a game boy advanced games and the games themselves are really addicting. The original DK would keep me entertained for hours and hours when I was younger playing it on the SNES and I even remember the first time I saw and played the game in a Sears store! (Not kidding!) Edit: Thought I'd include a picture to show you what I'm talking about Edited August 24, 2007 by Ryanw

Ryanw #91 Posted August 24, 2007 (edited) I say they are at least on par with each other, in my personal opinion DK2 was the most but that's just me because a lot of people like DK3 or even the original best. Edited August 24, 2007 by Ryanw
