AtariMan1976 #1 Posted August 4, 2007 Well, good thing i followed my instincts. Here lately, i haven't really been going to yard sales like i normally do and should do. A few days ago, a sign was posted where i work. It was a multi-family yardsale on a whole block. What caught my eye of course was the fact that it said "video games". Hmmm. well my job had me working 8 to 4 which was the exact running time for the yard sales. I figured, "something tells me not to miss this one". I asked my wife to go in place ofme and see what was out there. Heres what i ended up with: Playstation 2 complete system for $10, Playstation system complete for $5, Rocky box set movies for $4, 22 PS1 games in binder all with books for $2, Gremlins vhs for $1, Nice Sony VCR complete with remote for $10, and The Goonies vhs for .25 cents. I wish every weekend was like this.
Dave Farquhar #2 Posted August 4, 2007 Nice. Today I scored an original Playstation with three games but no power cable (argh), a joystick for a Sega Saturn, Rampage for NES, Super Mario World for SNES, a Gameboy Color with Donkey Kong Land, a video cable for PS1/PS2 and a video cable for SNES/N64/Gamecube (I always grab loose cables when I see them). And I scored a CD, punrockacademyfightsong by Down By Law, that has a hilarious punk rock cover of "500 Miles," the hit by the Proclaimers. I passed on a few loose Genesis carts (all either sports titles or super common) and some badly scratched Dreamcast discs. Sometimes I wonder what it is that people do with their discs to scratch them up so badly? Drag them behind their car? I had a good Saturday too, though not quite as good as yours. I've seen PS2s priced at $10 at yard sales before, but someone has always beat me to them.

RickHarrisMaine #5 Posted August 5, 2007 No way in Hell my wife would ever go to a yard sale for me. Not a stinking chance.... otherwise, she's pretty cool....

My wife actually says YES instead of NO. She says, ever since we got together, she's learned what to look for now and looks every time she's out. She knows what i'm into from Atari to Sony. Dave Farquhar #9 Posted August 5, 2007 My wife was the one who got me into going to yard sales. She looks for stuff for me too. That's where my copy of Baseball Stars for NES came from.

Technosis #11 Posted August 5, 2007 22 PS1 games for $2? What the deuce??? That's insane... guess it's a good thing SOME people don't know about ebay. Wow some nice finds! Rather than hear people mention eBay when I ask if they have any games, I overwhelmingly hear "yes, but we are keeping them". I've noticed that people are less likely to clear out there old games then say back in the PSX era..... That said the competition for the remaining games is very high.... Oh yeah, no games yesterday, but I picked up some DVD's for cheap this weekend, here's a pic below, if anyone wants any just PM me....
n8littlefield #12 Posted August 5, 2007 We yard sale on occassion, usually out looking for toys for my son. He has a few toy lines that we've had luck finding at yardsales - we recently found a great deal on Geotrax trainsets at a yardsale which is currently his favorite set of toys. Gamewise I haven't had much luck around here, I think alot of people think old=ebay and we just don't see what we used to.
