Atari5200 #1 Posted August 6, 2007 i happened upon a 3do in great condition for a fair price yesterday, FZ-10 style, it came with no software, so if you could pick just 1 game from the entire library, which would you chose to be the best?

Back when I had mine hooked up, I played Need for Speed the most.

Jess Ragan #4 Posted August 6, 2007 Even the bad games can be fun, if you're in an MST3K kind of mood. Just play Way of the Warrior for thirty minutes and try not to laugh! JR
Atari5200 #5 Posted August 6, 2007 can a US system play import games or do you have to do something in order for it to play imports?
Lemmi #6 Posted August 6, 2007 can a US system play import games or do you have to do something in order for it to play imports? region free, all but a handfull of games work on US systems, the others will only work with a japanese 3do i enjoy Need for Speed, Road Rash, Captain Quazar and Wing Commander III with mark hamil
BONK #7 Posted August 6, 2007 Super Street Fighter 2 turbo out of this world flashback alone in the dark theres a couple. Yes 3D0 will play all regions. Also the FZ-10 takes burned games but i wouldn't reccomend it to much, being that burned 3d0 games unless you use the best cd's out there, get a couple of light scratches and the game start to freeze, music skips sometimes graphics get messed up badly! jboypacman #9 Posted August 6, 2007 I heard that Samurai Showdown is decent for it but i havnt played this version to tell you if it does or not. I do like Return Fire for the 3DO and Need for Speed isnt too bad for it either.

I do like Return Fire for the 3DO and Need for Speed isnt too bad for it either. It's got choppy scaling and missing frames, but if you don't have a NeoGeo (or GameFly since they just added the first SS) the 3DO version would be the better port
EmOneGarand #11 Posted August 6, 2007 I can't stress how much you have to get Return Fire lol.. it's a blast and the classical music goes hilariously well with the action.
vdub_bobby #12 Posted August 6, 2007 I've had a ton of fun with Super SFII and Road Rash. Both excellent games.
Alison DeMeyer #13 Posted August 6, 2007 Talking about classical music, CPU Bach is a good laugh. Make music the classical way. No Bach tunes on CD actually, only music in the style of Sebastian.
+Random Terrain #14 Posted August 6, 2007 One of the best games on the 3DO is Star Control II. Just talking about it makes me want to get out my 3DO and play it again. It's been long enough that I have probably forgotten everything. You can also download the 3DO version of the game and play it on your computer for free: http://sc2.sourceforge.net/downloads.php I just downloaded the game and it works fine with Vista. Now I don't have to get out my 3DO! I loved Shanghai: Triple-Threat. One of the games on there reminds me of the Connect 2 free online game that I have on my web site. Advanced Dungeons & Dragons: Slayer was cool because of the random dungeon generator. Talk about randomness and replayability. The Horde was fun for a while. Theme Park is worth owning. It was my first amusement park game. Need for Speed was pretty amazing-looking at the time. I kind of liked Quarantine back then, but it's hard to go back to now since it's so blocky compared to the games of today. It's like a futuristic Crazy Taxi with guns. I had a sampler with a Captain Quazar demo on it. The little I got to play of it made it seem like the game might be worth owning. If you like platform games, even a little, then you must have Gex. Gabriel #15 Posted August 6, 2007 Advanced Dungeons & Dragons: Slayer was cool because of the random dungeon generator. That was one a friend of mine loved. He used to play that game all the time. I tried to hunt down Deathkeep for him but couldn't find it.
horseboy #16 Posted August 6, 2007 Wow, no votes for Star Control 2? That is crazy. SC2 is one of the best games ever... on any system. It is fantastic.
Fighter17 #17 Posted August 7, 2007 Return Fire is like crack with two players. Shockwave is good. Actually a lot of EA games on the 3DO were mostly good. Samurai Shodown sucks now since they are much better ports out there. Same for Super Street Fighter II Turbo since they were tons of frames removed from the backgrounds (Jee Jay stage is a wonderful example). Road Rash is a must. Crash 'N Burn was a good launch title. Way of the Warrior is 100% shit. And if you really want to get high, they are always the porno titles on the 3DO.

Prodos8 #19 Posted August 7, 2007 As said before Return Fire is a must, especially with two players. One of my friends that doesn't even play games, ordinarily, was a fiend for that one. He loved running down the fleeing soldiers with one of the vehicles and hearing the ant like squishing noise.

Jess Ragan #21 Posted August 15, 2007 The Horde was fun for a while. Ah... those were happier times, back when Kirk Cameron was raised by a kind herd of wild cows rather than manipulating people with preachy web sites. JR

I also have a Goldstar. The Goldstar is a lot rarer. Also there IS a 3DO forum at http://cdinteractive.co.uk/3do/forum/ I'm DragonmasterDan there as well. Cassidy Nolen #25 Posted January 4, 2008 Game I played most: Road Rash. Leave it in attract mode, and it plays all the music videos for the songs in the game. Very good graphics for FMV at that time. NFS is a good player too. I actually liked the dumb games, too like Plumbers Dont Wear Ties. If you like Myst type games, get "D". Its pretty intense. Best figher on the system I think was the Sailor Moon pretty princess fighter. I loved it. 3 button mashing goodness. Its an import but well worth it. Played fine in both my US systems. Steer clear of Primal Rage. I thought it was a steaming pile. Maybe others have different thoughts. The golf games were good on it too. The Majhong game was good too.
