8th lutz #1 Posted August 10, 2007 (edited) http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/10/ea-gets-...ly-on-monopoly/ It is ironic EA has the rights since they mastered "Monoply" by having exclusive sports game deals with the NFL and Nascar. Jess Ragan #2 Posted August 10, 2007 Ironic? Maybe. Fitting? Definitely! Now they just need to get the rights to Jackass and Cheaters. JR

Atarifever #4 Posted August 10, 2007 Well what do you know, now I actually might play an EA game. Monopoly is my favorite boardgame, and if you think a)it is boring and takes to long or b) it always ends in a fight, then it's just because you don't know how to play. Me and my fiancee had a sort of Monopoly group going for a long time; we even had a trophy that the winners got to keep each week for bragging rights (my friend with his B Comm. kept it for 3 months straight at one point) and we've since all had to move to different places, so we don't get to play much anymore, so if they made a high end Monoploy with great online support allowing us to play against our friends, and with say voicechat and a running victory tally, I'd be all over it. This is actually the sort of thing they'll be good at, as all the creativity is already taken care of, and all they have to do is reproduce it nicely electronically, which they certainly have the resources for. Jimmy Yakapucci #5 Posted August 10, 2007 All I can say is that I hope it plays better than the PS1 version did. Talk about slow.... JY

Atarifever #7 Posted August 11, 2007 Damn! Monopoly: Bling! Bling! Edition. Actually, considering who it is, I think NFL Monopoly is more likely. One of my friends has that board, and I like playing it, as buying teams and building stadiums fits the Monopoly idea while making it feel a little different. Of course, between Canadaopoly, Cat in the Hatopoly, Simpsonsopoly, NFLopoly, Disneyopoly, and 4 or 5 seperate boards of the original, it's pretty obvious that me and my friends will pretty much just buy anything ending in "opoly" they want to sell us. +Lynxer2007 #8 Posted August 11, 2007 Damn, I hate EA Games. Infogrames should've never sold the digital rights back to Hasbro.
