A Sprite #1 Posted August 12, 2007 Imagine a world exactly like ours, with two differences - The 2600 has just been released. People are still willing to pay good money for conversions of popular titles. If your brain hasn't exploded from the logic of the 2600 being taken seriously as a competitor to the X-Box 360 and PS3 - What modern games (16 bit and up) should be converted? Assume two sprites and a missile, with whatever programming tricks you want, but it has to have been a popular game, and the conversion has to be reasonably fun to play. Can you meet the challenge? A Sprite #4 Posted August 13, 2007 How about Chrono Trigger? You could easily bring over all of Chrono's dialog intact.
djdat #5 Posted August 13, 2007 It would have to be san andreas lol Imagine that!!!
Xot #6 Posted August 13, 2007 It would have to be san andreas lol Imagine that!!! It's been mentioned in other threads but scaled-back versions of DDR, Guitar Hero and DrumMaster would all be feasible, as would several XBox Arcade titiles. Many of the hack-n-slashers might be doable, like the Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance games, X-Men Legends, and Hunter: The Reckoning
Asaki #7 Posted August 13, 2007 Guitar Hero I'm imagining a piece of wood with a Star Raiders keypad taped to it for the fretboard, and a joystick for the pick. Would be ever so slightly more realistic than the real thing

MagMax667 #9 Posted August 13, 2007 It's been mentioned in other threads but scaled-back versions of DDR, Guitar Hero and DrumMaster would all be feasible, as would several XBox Arcade titiles. A few homebrewers even attempted a DDR-style game for the 2600, didn't they? It was called "Discotech."
