figgler #1 Posted August 13, 2007 Wondering if anyone has ever used this thing called a Handy FamiEight and what you think. Even if you haven't used it, throw in your 2 cents. I've been wanting a portable NES for ages, and being that I have an GBA SP, this is a much cheaper option than a GameAxe. Basically it looks like this thing is a shell/converter that allows you to play NES carts on an SP or a TV. Let me know what you think guys about this or if you have better ideas about portable NES gaming. Atari5200 #3 Posted August 13, 2007 i have a better idea for portable NES, get a GP32 and run it on emulation, and then run portable Sege Genesis, Master Syste, Game Gear, Atari systems, TG-16 and more... I love my GP32 for classic console emulation, for the most part the older systems run almost perfectly, except for SNES, it runs but not without frameskip, still playable though, plus the fact you just get so much more with the GP32, also plays MP3 and Divx movies, though limited by the 128mb SMC, but still 128mb is more than enough for an entire NES library and more. Jess Ragan #4 Posted August 13, 2007 Screw that! Just get a flash cartridge. It's both cheap and convenient. JR

You could always step up to the GP2X. I have one, but I just need to make better use of it. JY

JY nah, for what I tend to play, i have no reason to go with the GP2x just yet as everything I use on the GP32 runs perfectly fine.

JR The only flash cart available for the NES is the Powerpak, and I'd be pretty surprised if it ran on this thing on Ebay. Would be awesome if it did though! EmOneGarand #9 Posted August 16, 2007 Take everyone elses advice about emulation.. most of those NoaC devices are only 70% compatible with all NES games.. Castlevania 3 and several other games will not run on them.
+remowilliams #10 Posted August 16, 2007 (edited) The only flash cart available for the NES is the Powerpak, and I'd be pretty surprised if it ran on this thing on Ebay. The Powerpak is AWESOME! But it only runs on real NES hardware, no clones. Take everyone elses advice about emulation.. most of those NoaC devices are only 70% compatible with all NES games.. Castlevania 3 and several other games will not run on them. That's not true, even for their faults they are far more compatible than that. I know, I've got a bunch of them.
