Lord Helmet #2 Posted August 17, 2007 I would go with the SNES
cyberfluxor #3 Posted August 17, 2007 I like the SNES and Saturn for scrollers, though you'll need to import to get a huge selection out of the Saturn

Mike 01Hawk #7 Posted August 17, 2007 (edited) What the heck is a scroller? Any game that scrolls? One that is scrolling either horizontally or vertically, (Life Force anyone? ). But you can't go back to previous areas, like Zelda. I'd say a true scroller should be 2D using sprites, not polygons/3D. vdub_bobby #8 Posted August 17, 2007 Using the term "scroller" to describe a 2D, sprite-based, single-direction scrolling game is a little silly. And too broad to really discuss anyway, since that encompasses everything from Life Force to Super Mario Brothers to Contra to Jungle Hunt to Double Dragon to Kid Icarus to Metal Slug to Galaga. Now if you want to talk about 2D scrolling shooters, or 2D scrolling platformers, or isometric scrolling beat-em-ups, sure, that's a discussion.
