8th lutz #1 Posted August 17, 2007 (edited) Parent company Movie Gallery has until August 27th to pay off a $900 million restructuring loan before they default on the loan and risk foreclosure on the company, at which point the bank will sell off all assets of the company to recoup the loan. Some anticipate the end of the company at the end of the summer. Google News has a pile of articles about it. Here is a link to find them all: http://news.google.com/news?q=movie+gallery I can't say that I am shocked about game crazy going under. 2600Lives #2 Posted August 17, 2007 No big loss, really. Just another GameStop clone that overprices everything. The one near me had a copy of Sonic 1, loose, for, get this, 12.99. GameXChange, boxed with instructions, 1.99.

Hyper_Eye #6 Posted August 19, 2007 In my area Gamestop already bought everything. We had EB Games, Software Etc., Rhino Games, and Player's Choice. Of those Player's Choice went out of business and Gamestop bought the rest. My favorite was Rhino Games and they were Gamestop's most recent acquisition. Now the only options are a Gamestop store or a retail store like Target, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, etc. Despite what I think about Wal-Mart I would buy there before buying in a Gamestop store any day. Ebay is all that's left for good deals and it is getting less and less appealing everyday.

We never had Rhino Games in my town (to my knowledge), but I loved Funcoland before it was acquired (and R.I.P. Babbages as well)
