ScottHuggins #28 Posted August 28, 2007 So many have listed Space Jockey.... It's awful!!! * Planet Patrol - just a neat side scroller. * Spacemaster X-7 - Probably my all time fav 2600 game. * Laser Gates - love those explosions!!! * Demons to Diamonds - This is my favourite paddle game. Two players head to head is pretty neat. * Chase the Chuckwagon - yea, yea, I'm gonna get razzed for this one. Just a fun maze game. I love the doggy "food bowl" thing in between mazes. The MilkMan #29 Posted August 28, 2007 December (if I wait that long) will mark 1 year since I last fired up the 'ol 2600. Bought a Xbox 360 and I can't stop playing it. Anyway, last title that kept me occupied for hours was Circus Atari. It's a hoot! Oh, that and Crossbow...but that was because I bought it for myself as a 'mas gift. Never played it before that. +1 on Tunnel Runner!
as_the_gavel_falls #30 Posted August 28, 2007 Wall Ball. This game frigging rocks with a mouse. Has anyone seen this redone with modern graphics?
supercat #31 Posted August 28, 2007 I've never heard anyone say anything bad about Pressure Cooker and I think at the time it was pretty popular.....and not a sleeper hit. I find it very annoying that you're often 'stuck' if you catch a condiment that you don't need. Unless I'm missing something, it seems that catching an unnecessary condiment will generally cost a life. Is there some non-penalty way of disposing of unwanted condiments that I don't know about? In making Toyshop Trouble, I decided against a penalty for incorrectly painting toys. Perhaps the game as a whole should have use some sort of penalty scheme instead of a straight time limit, but if I were going to go the penalty route I would have the penalty be for letting toys out that aren't correctly painted. Perhaps I need to revisit Toyshop Trouble for a 'deluxe edition' release, though I wouldn't want earlier purchasers to feel slighted.

Anyway my top five would be:- 1 Sky Diver - Excellent fun when played against an opponent 2 Combat - Best two player game around 3 Midnight Magic - Few people seem to talk about it 4 Dodge Em - Very underated maze game 5 Frog N Flies - Again has definte charm whne playing an opponent
Dauber #34 Posted August 29, 2007 In no particular order.... Pac-Man -- my explanation is at http://scattered-frog.blogspot.com/2006/06...ts-bad-rap.html Tac-Scan -- I never understood why the 2600 version gets so much flak. I personally think it's better than the arcade version. Thunderground -- underrated to the point that I've never seen anybody talk about it! Cool, challenging game that's kind of a shooting version of Dig Dug. Crackpots! -- Very addictive Activision game that I rarely see mentioned. Indeed, when I got it in a box full of carts I got off eBay last summer, I'd never heard of it. Toyshop Trouble -- seriously, it's that good that even though I've seen nothing but glowing reviews so far, it's still that much underrated!
supercat #35 Posted August 29, 2007 Pac-Man -- my explanation is at http://scattered-frog.blogspot.com/2006/06...ts-bad-rap.html One of the biggest complaints against Pac Man is that the ghosts flicker at 15Hz. To be sure, the runners in Home Run or the trash cans in Football flickered at 15Hz, but those games were ancient history by the time Pac Man came out. Adventure's objects sometimes flickered even slower than that, but that was a result of "magic" (or so the manual said) and contributed to the game's "charm". By the time Pac Man debuted, there were many games that showed lots of objects without flicker. Occasional 30Hz or even 20Hz flicker would have been fine (maybe even 15Hz if it was rare) but constant 15Hz flicker was considered "bad" by the time the game was released. Toyshop Trouble -- seriously, it's that good that even though I've seen nothing but glowing reviews so far, it's still that much underrated! Aw, gee thanks. :-)

But I would love a SEQUEL!
Video #37 Posted September 1, 2007 Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't you throw the food back on preassure cooker (or swap it for a different piece?) I KNOW you can just dump it on another burger or whatever and just keep one as a trash burger, but eh...anyhow. Put me in as one that loves Tunnel Run, thos graphics, the sheer speed the gaje can be played in (inf irst person...on the 2600) And the sound ruled. I love it over all. Also, Tac Scan, most people I talk to never even heard of this one, but hey, any game that lets you daisychain 5 ships together is friggin awesome, pluss it's just a great, high speed space shooter (especially later on)
PressureCooker2600 #38 Posted September 1, 2007 You can "bop" the ingredient back.....but if you grab it, you're pretty much fucked. But you can always gain those points back pretty fast in the early levels, just never grab the wrong ingredients later on or you're screwed.
