Segataritensoftii #1 Posted August 27, 2007 (edited) I just posted my first serious game review on GameFAQs. Just thought you might want to see it. The game being reviewed is Bubsy 3D. Edited August 27, 2007 by Segataritensoftii
Atarifever #2 Posted August 28, 2007 If I may make some suggestions: The developers tried way too hard to try and emulate an analog stick on the D-pad This is doubtful. I believe this game and the N64 (and thus modern analog)came out in the same year, so I don't think the developers were trying to emulate the analog stick at all when programming the game, anymore than they were trying to emulate the Wiimote. In fact, these graphics are so bad, that for a little while, I actually thought a version of this game existed for the Atari Jaguar. It certainly looked the part. There was a 2D Jaguar Bubsy, which was certainly the best LOOKING game in the series, so drawing that comparison is a little unfair, as (as far as Bubsy games go) Jaguar actually equals quality graphics. Other than those nitpicks, I actually like the review. It's a little lacking in hostorical perspective (I assume you're a teenager?) but it's nice to see someone give real opinions on something like this without stooping to "OMG Bubsy 3D is the sux!!!!" You gave a bad score to it, with clear reasons why, and even made mention of the positives. Good stuff.
n8littlefield #3 Posted August 28, 2007 Definately made some good points - was a pretty pleasant read overall. One of my pet peeves is when people pick on games over and over again without actually playing the game or presenting the reasons a game is bad (such as the frequently bashed ET) - you did a very good job laying out exactly why this game is as bad as the reputation it has earned. One piece of advice I'd offer - type the review in a word processor like Microsoft Word and take advantage of it's grammar and spell checking features prior to posting the review. Then, just copy and paste the review from the word processor into Gamefaqs - it will eliminate a ton of misspellings.
