sandmountainslim #1 Posted September 1, 2007 Ok, odd question but I have the chance to buy a used FB2 for eight bucks at a thrift store and I am seriously thinkin of buying it for the joysticks. My question is are the FB2 joysticks as durable as the sticks which came with the VCS or are they cheaply made crap? My console is a Vader and the original sticks lasted about seven or eight years and I am now using a small aftermarket joystick. Tell me what u know about the FB2 sticks because if they are good I am gonna get em and hook them to my old machine. Thanks WP
PressureCooker2600 #2 Posted September 1, 2007 They are just as durable......very good sticks. They aren't compatible ,as far as I know, with the VCS.
mimo #3 Posted September 1, 2007 They are totally compatible with VCS,2600,7800,XL/XE, C64 etc etc very nice, at that price well worth getting
+SpiceWare #4 Posted September 1, 2007 I use my FB2 sticks with my VCS. They've worked quite well.

sandmountainslim #6 Posted September 1, 2007 Cool Thanks I shall run up to the store before it closes and get 'em then. I like my Slik Stik but I think it would be better to have the original style sticks with my machine, I was just worried they were not up to par. mimo #7 Posted September 1, 2007 Very responsive, I find them better than the original CX-40s, and prefer them to pretty much every stick I own, other than my converted Radica space invaders stick
sandmountainslim #8 Posted September 1, 2007 Are the power supplies also interchangeable?
sandmountainslim #9 Posted September 1, 2007 Are the power supplies also interchangeable? The FB2 is missing the power supply and I was wondering if I could test it out by hooking my original power supply to it or will it make it explode? WP
+SpiceWare #10 Posted September 1, 2007 9 volts, 200 mA, with center being positive. However, connector is female instead of male.
opeygon #11 Posted September 1, 2007 pretty good sticks, but the ones i got werent "clicky" at all. not sure if they came like that, or if the previous owner just used the hell out of them
sandmountainslim #12 Posted September 2, 2007 Bought it! The sticks do seem to be good and almost identical to the originals. I had however forgotten how much more responsive the Slik Stick was when compared to CX40 style stick. I am glad I bought the FB2 but think I will continue to use the Slick Stick as it just makes playin the games so much easier. WP
