Lauren Tyler #1 Posted September 1, 2007 I just found out that EA Games is releasing C&C Gold for free at http://www.commandandconquer.com/intel/def...?id=61#NewsMain The thing is, both the GDI and NOD discs are being released in two seperate .iso files. It says after burning the ISOs (or mounting them I'd think) you have to set the install programs to be Windows 95 compatible to run them. When I tried doing that it says 'SETUP.EXE is not a valid Win32 Application.' Is this a problem with the .iso or something I'm not doing right? I'm doing it according to the document and all. SO what did you do, burn or mount the iso? Try the other disc, and try not being in win 95 mode. Or try windows 98 mode. What windows you have, XP? I wouldn't think you would have to run the installer in windows 95 compatibility mode. Edited September 2, 2007 by SINGLE TOOTH

shadow460 #4 Posted September 3, 2007 I think you can install C&C Gold (otherwise known as Command & Conquer '95) via DOS. I'm not sure how well that works on XP. I've always installed it via the GUI in 98 and 98SE.
Lauren Tyler #5 Posted September 3, 2007 No soap, it just said that it wasn't a valid Win32 Application either.

shadow460 #7 Posted September 3, 2007 That's odd. I might have to load up the old CD set I've got at some point and see what happens. Generally when it comes to the first C&C, I just play it on a console. It's slower, but you still have everything there, especially with the PS1 version and the Sony mouse.
