8th lutz #1 Posted September 6, 2007 http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/05/pr-direc...r-leaving-sony/ Dave Karraker, Sr. Director of Corporate Communications for Sony Computer Entertainment America, has announced that he'll be leaving the company on Friday to take a position with Skyy Spirits. In an email to Joystiq and other media outlets, Karraker wrote, "I imagine you media sleuths will be unearthing this news soon, so I wanted to send you a personal email to let you know I have made the very difficult decision to leave Sony. I am saddened to leave such a great group of people, but I have been presented a global opportunity near my home in an industry where I have previous experience that I feel I must pursue." Karraker has been our go-to guy on Sony stuff since last September. I can't blame him. It must be hard for him to do a good spin on the things the big wigs at sony said since last year. shadow460 #4 Posted September 6, 2007 (edited) @!#[email protected] all you gamers out there. We're going to make you pay $169.95 for a portable little tiny console that we willingly crippled and if you try to fix it, we're going to harass you to no end! And then we're gonna force you to buy our next big console for $500 plus if you want backwards compatibility without the harassment! And don't you be copying any software now, ya hear? How does one put a good spin on that? How about a quote from ten years ago? We're not giving you force feedback in our new pad because we think you want analog control instead we didn't pay Immersion their patent royalties. So now we have to totally goof the pad up, pay royalties, then re release it as something more Japanese gamers will enjoy that's too small to hold. A great company with many good products is called Sony. Like their competition, though, they've made some bonehead moves. (don't get me started quoting Bernie Stolar...)
