PressureCooker2600 #2 Posted September 9, 2007 Talking about underrated. Lets talk about Low G Man. Now THATS a game.

theking21083 #4 Posted September 10, 2007 I have that game and play it on a regular basis. I also noticed that nobody else knew what I was talking about when I would bring it up in conversation.
+doctorclu #5 Posted September 10, 2007 I have that game and play it on a regular basis. I also noticed that nobody else knew what I was talking about when I would bring it up in conversation. That was good. I like to know what is good rather than what sucks.
bretthorror #6 Posted September 10, 2007 I like the video. And, now I want to play the game he reviewed, so I hope he keeps making more. I'd like to see him review Blaster Master. Not enough people can know about that gem. Sure, most hardcores do, but eventually he's gonna run out of truly obscure games to review. I think it's pretty much the best game the NES has to offer, besides Mario.
A Sprite #7 Posted September 10, 2007 Talking about underrated. Lets talk about Low G Man. Now THATS a game. Sure. Why not? After the video, check out the comments and video responses. Watch as an angry nerd learns where he went wrong. I'd like to see him review Blaster Master. Not enough people can know about that gem. Sure, most hardcores do, but eventually he's gonna run out of truly obscure games to review. I think it's pretty much the best game the NES has to offer, besides Mario. Maybe someone else will cover it.
MFoolsRun #8 Posted September 10, 2007 Damn, now I really want Metal Storm!
Ghost Soldier #9 Posted September 10, 2007 Nice review
PsychedelicShaman #10 Posted September 10, 2007 I played it last night after watching this review, and it is really great! The reverse gravity is mind-boggling at first, but you get used to it after a while.
PressureCooker2600 #11 Posted September 10, 2007 I can't believe that dude was dissing Low G Man. He must not have known how to fuckin' play it. It's awesome. Taxan's best, along with G.I. Joe. I'm glad most of those people commenting knew that the dude was full of shit.
shadow460 #12 Posted September 11, 2007 That's the bad thing about the NES. with so many games, there are a lot of un hyped but excellent games that got swept under the rug.
SRGilbert #13 Posted September 11, 2007 That was pretty good, wish I had that game now. Oh wait, I do......on my PowerPak!
jboypacman #14 Posted September 11, 2007 I really liked the Happy Nintendo Nerd as he was a nice change of pace from the Angry Nintendo Nerd.
2600Lives #15 Posted September 11, 2007 Oh, wow, that was painful. Just a cheap knock off of The Nerd. Kyle Justin should sue his ass for bastardizing the Nerd's theme song! At least the Nerd is entertaining. Who doesn't like seeing Bugs Bunny get his fluffy ass kicked? MetalStorm, however, is a damn good game. One of the best on the NES. I've played it plenty, and know quite a few people who love it. Sorry, but I've gotta side with the dark side o' the Force here. The Nerd is far and away better than this unoriginal jerk. What was that quote from Spaceballs? "Evil will always win, because good is dumb." Amen.
Gentlegamer #16 Posted September 11, 2007 I applaud efforts to create awareness of overlooked gems from video gaming's past. Also, a pretty cool "rip-off" of the AVGN.
S1500 #17 Posted September 11, 2007 Both the reviewers have valid points. The happy nintendo nerd prasies a good game(I'd sure as hell like to play it), while the Angry Nintendo Nerd has valid criticisms on some of the worst NES games ever. The Happy Nintendo nerd didn't need to copy scene-for-scene AVGN's video scthick(theme song, etc). He could have done the review w/ his own style just fine. Of course, the worst video "reviewer" is WizWar100. He went on for over 20 minutes on SNES "The last action hero" just on the first level! The game is so dull, there really is nothing to talk about. But he insists on swearing for 20 minutes and showing the same level over again to bore you to tears. He's an AVGN knock-off without coming to any valid point. A Sprite #18 Posted September 11, 2007 (edited) Oh, wow, that was painful. Just a cheap knock off of The Nerd. It's satire. The Happy Nerd admits he only made the video to see whether it was possible to give a good review in the style. 2600Lives #19 Posted September 11, 2007 Ahh, cool then. I couldn't finish watching it, so I didn't see any of that.
Ryanw #20 Posted September 12, 2007 I liked both of his reviews, the second one in particular. Some interesting facts he found out about Journey to Silius.
JB #21 Posted September 12, 2007 Didn't watch the video, but I've been recommending Metal Storm for years. The fact that the grav flip comes off as a natural intuitive feature instead of a gimmick impresses me greatly. It's also a beautiful game. Animations are on a level you'd expect from something another generation or 2 out. Most SNES games didn't have animation as fluid as Metal Storm. 'S also one of .... I believe 3 NES games with parallax scrolling. I'm always impressed with just how far the NES was pushed, especially since they never used coprocessors on it. And as trivia, the Japanese version is different. Added an intro cutscene and a death trap to stage 6, as well as changing the color palate to accommodate a white Gundam power suit. But.... Contrary to popular belief, the game was NOT crippled for the US release. We actually got the game FIRST, and apparently they used us as a final beta. Fine with me. I'd probably never clear stage 6 if the edges of the screen were instant death. ... Wouldn't mind that cutscene, though.
A Sprite #22 Posted September 13, 2007 And as trivia, the Japanese version is different. Added an intro cutscene and a death trap to stage 6, as well as changing the color palate to accommodate a white Gundam power suit. It's gotta be the orange. My eyes bleed when I look at the color palette, so much that I had to make up my own..
