Old comic books and videogames ads

Recommended Posts

Going through my collection of comics, I was looking at the series ALPHA FLIGHT from marvel

on the back cover of each issue an ad for parker brothers videogames

Frogger, Tutankham, SW Return Of Jedi, Q*Bert, Popeye, Super Cobra, Frogger different ad ("different croaks for different folks"),

Q*bert for different consoles with graphics comparative, Frogger for diff consoles, Popeye for different consoles, frogger/popeye/q*bert for atari computers,

parker new video hotline, SW Arcade Game, Frogger II, Montezumas Revenge...

then on issues 19 and 20 dated February and March 1985 Risk the boardgame

then finish

Did Parker prepaid the back cover ad and as the videogames crash was there decided to advertise the boardgame instead?.....

Could be.

Or perhaps they just made a deal with marvel to advertise their most popular product of that month up until march 1985.

I miss that about Marvel comics, the old ads of new Atari games. Always liked to believe that was truly the Golden Age for both comics and gaming ;)

I just bought ATARI FORCE COMICS !!!

ATARI FORCE 1-20

The full series! Plus the special and 2 of the ATARI 2600 game pack in books! Atari Force was the name of multiple comic books published by DC Comics from 1982 to 1986. It was loosely based on trademarks of Atari, Inc. The original Atari Force was a group of five individuals from around Old Earth brought together to explore the Multiverse in Scanner One, the first spaceship with the newly invented multiverse drive. As all inhabitants of New Earth know, they were successful. The second Atari Force was led by the leader of the original group, Martin Champion. He, along with two children of the original team plus an eclectic mix of aliens, prevented the Dark Destroyer from destroying New Earth before returning to Old Earth. Do you like your comics to be really smart SF adventure? this is the series for you
