Proper Care Thread!

Recommended Posts

ok well im sick of buying these systems on ebay and such

and getting them in mail and them being nowhere near cleaned taken care of, failing later on for me.

I decided to make a thread of proper care for these vintage gaming units :D

I need input from everybody else,

Tips for cleaning carts,

Tips for cleaning systems.

Which system this works for etc.

Ill start off with the NES since i clean my games monthly,

Steps To Clean A NES Cartrige.

1. Gather a Q-Tip and some Electronic Cleaner if available, if not use Rubbing Alcohol

2. Put the chemical onto the Q-tip

3. on the cartridge rub the connectors with the q tip therefore removing dirt, you may need to do this numerous times due to the amount of dirt and such on the cartridge itself.

4. finish off and wipe off with a dry q tip to get whats left behind and voila! You have a working NES cart which if your system works properly and has a CLEAN connector, should work everytime ;) :D
