Cheese007 #1 Posted September 17, 2007 Basically, post ways people can find out how "hardcore" they are about gaming, no matter how retarded the term is in the first place. You know you're a hardcore gamer if you can build this.
+FujiSkunk #2 Posted September 18, 2007 You know you're a hardcore gamer if you can point out a flaw in something like that. Shouldn't the Game Genie go in before the Sonic + Knuckles cart?

Atari5200 #9 Posted September 18, 2007 if it's for a contest, i could actually beat that. I have a import cart converter cart that allows me to play import carts on a US Genny, so I could remove the soccer game, then add the import cart + 1 of my import carts giving me +1 to your stack, so if you're out to win, find the converter and a cheap import cart and attach it. christianscott27 #10 Posted September 18, 2007 I remember some guy on the RGVC newsgroup posting about how he was able to play both ends of a XonoX cart the same time by using a pair of 2600 Jrs in the TIE-Fighter formation, thats hardcore.

SINGLE TOOTH #12 Posted September 18, 2007 (edited) I remember some guy on the RGVC newsgroup posting about how he was able to play both ends of a XonoX cart the same time by using a pair of 2600 Jrs in the TIE-Fighter formation, thats hardcore. That's funny. I think the reason he put the EA cart on top, is because it adds another inch or so compared to a regular genny cart. Anyway, I believe the point of this is, you gotta be hardcore if you HAVE the parts to build such an abomination. BTW, can you use a 32X on a nomad? +Psionic #13 Posted September 18, 2007 (edited) BTW, can you use a 32X on a nomad? No, they are incompatible (according to the Nomad manual at least...I've never tried it). Edited September 18, 2007 by PingvinBlueJeans
Atari5200 #14 Posted September 18, 2007 also you could "in theory" connect more than 1 sonic and knuckles right? So the height could be really extreme, unless the competition only allows 1, then the only thing I can think of to gain more height would be the cartridge needed to play imports. MFoolsRun #15 Posted September 18, 2007 I really think that, in order to count, the stack needs to actually boot. And damnit, I wish I hadn't lost my 32X in a move!
Atariman #16 Posted September 18, 2007 BTW, can you use a 32X on a nomad? No, they are incompatible (according to the Nomad manual at least...I've never tried it). They're only "incompatible" because the 32x blocks the A/V port on the Nomad, if I remember correctly. Besides that, the A/V plug is identical to that of the Genesis 2 and the guts are basically the same, therefore they are electronically compatible despite not being physically compatible. Lord Helmet #17 Posted September 18, 2007 (edited) You know you're a hardcore gamer when... ...you don't give a crap about labels like "hardcore gamer" and you just play video games on any console you can get your hands on, and by any manufacturer that makes a game that is fun Edited September 18, 2007 by Lord Helmet
+-^CrossBow^- #18 Posted September 18, 2007 For a legit stack of Genesis goodness...just use a Model 1 SegaCD with a Model 1 Genesis attached, then the 32x, then the Genie cart, then an S&K cart, and plug Virtua Racing in that. You can't play VR racing...but it is the tallest genesis cart for a game I've seen. And the FCC would crap to see all those chips together like that....yeah! Zonie #19 Posted September 18, 2007 Just wondering, anyone know if the guts of a Sega Pico are the same as a genny? If so, or at least if it would fit, the Pico cart, being a 10 inch (or so) tall book would top that stack quite nicely.
theking21083 #20 Posted September 18, 2007 (edited) You can put any Genesis game on the S&K cart and play a game. It won't be the game you put on but if you hold down a,b,c ,and push start then you can play lots and lots of brand new bonus round stages that are like the ones from sonic 3 and S&K. So in reality it does work to put any ol game on S&K. But I'm sure you guys already knew that. I used to love playing the bonus rounds when I was younger and got up to over level 200 doing this. They just keep going on and on and on. Edited September 18, 2007 by theking21083
Uzumaki #21 Posted September 19, 2007 If the tower doesn't need to work, I'd replace that EA sport on top with a power base converter, and add in any SMS game. That should add another 4 or 5 inches over what that EA cart would have. For even more, lose Nomad, find the old Genny 1 and Sega CD 1 (probably 1" taller combined than Nomad) and shoehorn in Action Replay somewhere.
