neotokeo2001 #1 Posted September 18, 2007 Click below to sign up for your free 1 year subscription to EGM. I recommend using an alternate e-mail address. Legit. https://www.zdmcirc.com/forms/secure/EGM_Joystiq_Partn.html

PressureCooker2600 #3 Posted September 19, 2007 i had to use my regular email......ill just delete the spam they send me hell......i remember when the dreamcast came out........i guess due to some clerical error, I began getting every issue of the Official Dreamcast magazine...had demos in it and everything. I never got charged at all and I don't know how I got it. No one secretly signed me up and paid for it. I guess karma works for you every once in a great while. Too bad I didnt get many issues of the magazine due to the Dreamcast's early demise.

Too bad I didnt get many issues of the magazine due to the Dreamcast's early demise. I was a Beta tester for Sega for NFL2K. I recieved a copy of the release version in the mail. And then for some reason they just kept sending me free games. I remember that everytime another Sega game appeared I would do the old SEGA! yell. Gregory DG #6 Posted September 19, 2007 LOL, I signed up... This'll be my third free subscription. After the second one they kept calling me trying to get me to subscribe again. I guess they got tired of calling and talking to my answering machine...
NE146 #7 Posted September 19, 2007 i had to use my regular email...... Why's that? .. hotmail, yahoo, gmail, etc are free and take about 3 minutes to set up a junk account. Heck I have dozens upon dozens @Gregory DG.. how did they get your phone # in the first place??
2600Lives #8 Posted September 19, 2007 Sweet. I got a free GamePro subscription this way a couple of years ago. Rarely, if ever did any of the junk mail they sent get past my Yahoo spam filter, and when it did, not a problem to delete. Thanks for the link! Jess Ragan #9 Posted September 19, 2007 They're doing this again, huh? Well, in that case, I'd better take advantage of it! Thanks for the tip, by the way.
Gregory DG #10 Posted September 19, 2007 @Gregory DG.. how did they get your phone # in the first place?? Not sure. Maybe it wasn't them. Future Publishing popped up on the caller id. I knew I didn't want to pay for anything, so I didn't answer...
moycon #11 Posted September 19, 2007 Hmm I already have a subscription to EGM, I wonder if I do this if it'll just tack it on?
RickHarrisMaine #13 Posted September 19, 2007 I just did it too.... And saw a link to enter the ultimate Halo 3 contest, which looks cool, even if I've never played Halo..... Heck, even the Los Angeles Angels bug me.....

Tempest #15 Posted September 19, 2007 Yes, but do they automatically renew you after 12 months and then charge you full price? I'm a bit wary of free offers like this. Tempest
Lord Helmet #16 Posted September 19, 2007 Yes, but do they automatically renew you after 12 months and then charge you full price? I'm a bit wary of free offers like this. Tempest They will send you a renewall notice. Just don't send it back. I have done this a couple of times over the years without incident.
BydoEmpire #17 Posted September 19, 2007 (edited) Toilet paper is pretty cheap, I don't really need to get any free. I've been reading EGM since 1989 (still have the '89 Buyer's Guide and some other early issues), but I cancelled my subscription this year. It's gone downhill terribly the last few years, imho, and I finally couldn't take it anymore. If I want to read stupid, snarky comments I'll just go to Kotaku. PressureCooker2600 #18 Posted September 19, 2007 I'm dreaming of the day when everything goes back to original Gamepro and Sega Visions. Those rating faces rule!!!

It's gone downhill terribly the last few years, imho, and I finally couldn't take it anymore. If I want to read stupid, snarky comments I'll just go to Kotaku. Indeed. EGM is so bad now I will not even subscribe for free anymore. GamePro isn't exactly quality literature. I recall when Soul Calibur 3 was coming out, they totally panned SC2 in their review of it... so I looked back, and they had given SC2 straight 4.5s out of 5. I wrote in and asked did it suck then too, or does it only suck now that there's a new version? I never got a response, surprise surprise.
moycon #20 Posted September 27, 2007 I like EGM. I like the fact that more than one person reviews a game and that they have nice big pictures of games instead of lots of little teeny pictures like some other mags. I also like Jennifer Tsao
ewing92 #21 Posted September 27, 2007 It says that the promotion has ended? That's pretty gay, i wanted it, just for the fact that i would be getting a free gaming magazine through the mail, but nnoooooo....that sucks.
djpubba #22 Posted September 28, 2007 (edited) You guys should check out Hardcore Gamer Magazine. We cover a lot more retro than the other guys. It is a print mag found on newsstands, but you can also get a free PDF version to see if you like it. Here's a link to a PDF of the latest issue: http://www.hardcoregamer.com/publicPDF/get...?file=HGM28.pdf Edited September 28, 2007 by djpubba

Hardcore Gamer Magazine is a great read. Reminds me a lot of Gamefan.
djpubba #24 Posted September 29, 2007 Dang, I'll tell her to at least mention it in her bio or something! Silly girl gamers just can't be trusted. ;D
Lynxara #25 Posted September 29, 2007 You're the one who told me we couldn't cover it, bossman. I think we got it after we'd already done some Atari stuff and you wanted to cover something else. And then whenever we did some retro it just didn't fit into what we were doing. I still have the cart, and I'll happily pay for it if you're dissatisfied, neotokeo21. Just e-mail me about it. I'd much rather cover it, of course, hint hint... there's a lot of wonderful Atari homebrew out there.
