Something Most people do not know!

Recommended Posts

I love asking questions to people they for sure don't know the answer to its fun.

Here give this one a shot

When was nintendo founded. lol

Most people think its the 1970s or 1980s due to nintendo game system,

but actually!

read this

1889 - Fusajiro Yamauchi began manufacturing "Hanafuda," Japanese playing cards in Kyoto

1903 - established unlimited partnership, Yamauchi Nintendo & Co.

Bet SOME of you guys did not know that :)

Some of you do though :ponder: but you guys know to much as it stands :P

Another thing I like to add

If you look carefully while watching Casino Royale at the scene where Peter Sellers first appears in the film. He is standing right next to a SEGA Slot Machine

Ahh, but what kind of playing cards did Nintendo make?

That would be the traditional Japanese hanafuda cards. There's, like, a thousand hanafuda games for the older systems, too.

Me too, except for some reason I had early 1900's (specificly 1918 :?: ) in mind.

(Only thing signifigant that happened in 1918 was the creation of The Matsushita Electric Housewares Manufacturing Works {Panasonic}).

Due to nintendo's "white washing" of video game history, most people don't know that there even were video games

prior to the nes.

Hold on and back the truck up, your telling me that there were games made before the NES!!!! :-o

Psh, yeah if you liked Pong. Nintendo invented platformers and rpgs, but who cares? Final Fantasy 1 sucked. It wasn't until Sony invented 3D games that they stopped being kids' toys.

I hate Nintendo playing card games anyways. Freaking Yu-Gi-Oh...if our parents had something else to play, nobody would have heard of Nintendo now.

A company emphasizes it's contributions and history on it's own website?!?!?!?! SHOCKING!

C'mon, does anybody expect ANY company to praise their competitors? Is there lots of discussion of Chevrolet on the Ford website and vice versa? Company websites are to spread company propaganda. That's just business.

A museum of ancient Activision classics comes to GBA!

Those with an irresistible hankering to return to the glory days of the 80's will no doubt jump at the chance to indulge in the Activision Anthology's wide and bizarre assortment of 55 classic Atari games. Activision Anthology includes classic fan favorites like Pitfall, along with stranger relics like Oystron, Cosmic Commuter and Space Treat Deluxe. Add some synth-rockin' 80's tunes to the mix, and you've got a rad Activision experience like no other.

Features

* Play a huge variety of old-school Activision games and get a chance to corral a stampede, pilot the space shuttle, and cook a delicious roast.

* Save and track your high scores.

* Get access to early Atari tech demos like Venetian Blinds and Activision prototypes.

* Rock out to some authentic 80's sound effects and music.

Bottom Line

Nostalgic gamers yearning for a simpler, more-pixelated era of videogames will get a kick out of Activision Anthology. Those curious about the ancient games of yore will also find this game an excellent source of amusement.

I remember reading about Nintendo's 100th birthday in one of the first few issues of Nintendo Power back in 1989. Kinda took me by surprise. Talk about longevity. Now you're playing with power...Staying Power!
