Ransom
Actually out and in use, I have: Atari 2600 (light sixer) Atari 5200 (four port) Atari 7800 TG-16 NES SNES 800XL Intellivision Genesis 2 Lynx Jaguar w/ CD PS2 Stored in the basement, I also have two 4-switch woodies, a second Intellivision, a second Genesis 2, a Genesis model 1, three additional Lynxes (two MIB), a 1200XL, a 600XL, an XEGM, and a 130XE. There may be more, but I haven't inventoried the basement in years, and the A8 stuff dates back a couple of decades or more. BassGuitari
Oh, what the heck: Disclaimer: I'm including add-on adapters, such as Expansion Module #1 and Intellivision ECS, on the grounds that they provide additional means of playing the software of a different respective system, and therefore serve as a different console. Also, the ECS Computer Adapter is required for a handful of Intellivision games to run. Finally, I'm including Jakks-type plug-'n'-play joystick games because, based on the definition we all seem to agree on, they are standalone consoles...and if Pongs count, why shouldn't they? BassGuitari
I'm thinking about getting an Atari 7800 but I'm not sure whether it's worth it or not. I was in that camp for a long time; I thought of it as a sort of crippled NES/SMS-type machine that could play 2600 games...and when the biggest selling point is "it can play 2600 games!," you have to wonder about the quality of its own software. But eventually, I said "screw it, what the hell" and I got a 7800 anyway, and it is pretty cool. The 7800 library is a lot of rehashes of older arcade games, but they're pretty damn good, and there are some unique exclusive titles that certainly keep things interesting. Honestly, you might as well. They're not outrageously expensive or anything (at least, they shouldn't be). But these days, if there had to be only one single reason to get a 7800, it is this: homebrews. They're amazing.
