chadtower
I figured, that was more sarcastic than anything. FWIW, I always bring cash, and I love nicely boxed hardware. I rarely am able to resist nicely boxed hardware.
Lauren Tyler
And Christian, if you're planning a meet, try not to make it right before or after Easter weekend, since Easter weekend is AnimeBoston 2008, and that will leave me financially drained no doubt. Why exactly does going to Christian's cost you a bunch of money? I think he means the money he usually spends on games. I know he is usually drops a bit of dough at these meets. Precisely. I've got like over $500 saved for AnimeBoston this year. Last year I had just $500, this year I'm hoping for more. But once that's over I'll try saving some for our next meet. TheDentist
I know there isn't a meeting time locked down or anything, but, can I suggest at the next meeting we watch King of Kong: A Fist Full of Quarters. ( or have it playing on the side or something ) I totally thought that movie was crazy. ( although one sided )

TheDentist
I think it came out in the tail end of Jan. http://www.amazon.com/King-Kong-Fistful-Qu...5169&sr=8-
bcprs1
I've been wanting to see that movie. I first heard about it when they played clips of it on Howard Stern. They were making fun of a scene where some guy was going around Fun Spot asking people if they wanted to see a "kill screen".
Lauren Tyler
Well Anime Boston is over, so start planning! As long as I can give 2 weeks' notice to my boss, I'm OK. *passes the time with a game of Space Invaders*

christianscott27
I dont have quite the "fire in the belly" I used to for collecting but I'd be happy to host an afternoon of gaming contests if Kirk or anyone else wants to set it up. Just so long as its a Sunday.
ClubNinja
Sad but true stuff. Have you started liquidating yet or are you still in the "piles of stuff I don't use are just sitting here" phase?
christianscott27
I haven't sold anything, no plans to. At this point in my life with 3 kids I have neither the time to hunt or the space to display my collection (toddlers eat carts). I'm hoping in a year or two the kids will be more manageable and I'll be able to get back into the hobby full scale - perhaps a basement arcade of my own. As it is right now I have plenty of space to store the collection, if not enjoy it. The thing I miss most is the hunt, four or five years ago I had a group of game collecting friends and a seemingly endless stream of finds. Now most people have moved away or slowed down too, and theres hardly anything out there to find.
ClubNinja
Those four or five years really feel like ages ago.
TheDentist
Ya, kid's are killer on carts. I have a 4 year old, and she doesn't even know video games exist yet. ( that's how hidden they are ) I'm also up for another meet.
bcprs1
I've actually had some luck lately. On craigslist, I just picked up a Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I also just picked up a Colecovision Smurf Paint and Play (I won't be playing this one).
