People Already Completed Halo 3?

Recommended Posts

Was looking on the Halo 3 forums on Xbox Live this morning and there are already numerous posts of people claiming to have completed the campaign mode of the game!!!

One guy even completed all the achievements for the campaign mode, racking up 1,000 gamer points! (go to "bungie.net - bungie online achievements" and look at gamer AlejandrownZ for proof of his claims)

I don't know what to think... either the solo game is very, very short or there are some excellent, excellent gamers out there. Whew.......

Or you've missed the fact that the game's release date got broken last week in several countries including the UK ;)

Given Halo2, I'd venture to guess it's short. :(

hell like most 360 shooters i've played, too short. Gears was too short, The Darkness was too short, dont' know if it's just the media storage of the 360, but it seems that there are quite a few 360 games that suffer from being too short.

Like ALL FPS games, it's just a short game. (don't buy one expecting it to take 100+ hours to finish, this is a F P S, not a movie with some gameplay attached...er...Imean RPG)

It's not a short game, as far as the Halo series goes though. Maybe on the shorter side of FPS games (though I beat Quake 4 in less time, it took only slightly longer to beat Doom 3) If you put it on the easiest setting, I should expect even the most unskilled players to beat it in under 10 hours. Me and a friend was at the store at midnight, came home and had completed campain on the easiest setting at almost exactly 10:00am. We would have probably shaved about half an hour off, if we didn't get hopelessly lost in the friggin gravemind level.

But all achievements? Uh...they might have gotten the game early, but there is no way they beat all the difficultys all the way through in that little time. It may be fairly short as a game, but even blasthing through it in no problem will take over 30 hours if you start, and finish each difficulty from start to finish, even for the most skilled players. It may be short, but while FPS games are short, it's hard to compress the time it takes to finish them. (correct me if I'm wrong, I don't suppose you have to play all difficultys to get all the achievements, but eh...if it was properly designed you would)

We must also consider the fools that hack game saves and therefor have outrageous (and sometimes impossible game scores) You can tell these people by the fact they have 100% in games that are glitched and impossible to get 100% in. They also tend to have 100% in games that amazingly...they've never played. Some people have very strange hobbies.

Yup, IGN's video review said it could be beaten in under 10 hours. 5 if you're a Halo master.

Pathetic.

What little time I've played the game is easier than Halo 2. :ponder:

Which was already far easier then Halo. I reiterate, pathetic.

Well, Halo is one of those games meant to be played in deathmatch online. So, it doesn't surprise me that it would be "short" in single player mode.

Hey. At least it has a single player mode, unlike Warhawk.

Or Shadowrun.

I agree this isn't a game you buy if you don't like playing online.

If you are just wanting to play through the campaign and check it out, probably best to rent it.

I'm just curious Artlover, I don't see your gamertag in the gamertag thread....Do you actually have a 360 or are you trying to lable a game "pathetic" that you haven't actually played? :ponder:

This is a BS cop out. If you're going to alienate solo players, then why bother even including the mode. If you're going to include a single player mode, then make it reasonable, otherwise don't bother. Just call it Halo3 Online and be done with it.

I do not like on-line/multi player gaming, never have, never will. I don't play multi-player on-line games for that reason. And believe it or not, there are a lot of people like me, who like to play solo.

There is no reason for it beyond not wanting to take the time to do it, and I don't appericate the 'less then they could do' attempts these companies make in an attempt to appease solo players with 'something', just for the sake of getting more sales by suckering people into thinking there is a worthy single player option.

Original Halo wasn't on-line, it was solo, and it was good. But it was the first of a series. I highly resent the fact that they are changing their target base with the follow ups. I hated Halo2's obvious preference for multi-player over solo and how patheticly short and easy the solo mode was. Sorry I fell in love with what Halo was when it first came out, as now it's obviously not for people like me anymore. Wish they would have been more clear about that at the start, so I would have avoided it, instead of getting sucked in to it. But I did, and since H2, getting f--ked for it.

No I don't have a 360 yet, I've said that several times in various threads.

Further, I don't need to play it myself if what you're all, IGN, and everyone else is saying is true. If it's short, it's pathetic, as there is no excuse for that. Don't care what it looks like, how it plays, what the sub plot is this time; if I can finish it in 10 hours or less like I did with H2, it's a piece of s--t that I want nothing to do with. There is no reason for it to be so short. There is no reason to disallow pseudo multi-player solo play using the game's AI to run bots. Everyone is about alienating solo players now a days because everyone thinks everyone wants on-line crap. Well, everyone don't. And I'm sure in hell not spending $6/hr for it.

You are absolutely OUT OF YOUR MIND. Seriously, this is the most amazing, engrossing, jaw dropping, epic masterpiece of a game I've ever played. It's not short. It's huge. And you can't put it down. I've done nothing but play it all day. It's The Return of the King of sci fi epics. It takes about 13 hours to play through, but there is so much content, it will take four play throughs to even scratch all the hidden stuff, and the like. The story is ... unbelieveable at the end. The people saying it's short are crazy.

Seriously man, don't talk yourself out of this game. It's the most amazing thing I've ever played.

I beat it too around midnight last night (played online co-op with 3 friends from start to finish).

If I had to judge it on single player alone, I might give it a 7/10. Story is nothing to write home about, completely predictable and written many times before. The game itself seemed leagues easier than the other Halo games (played on Normal, will try legendary today). The only times I died during the entire experience were from friendlies throwing grenades at me, and falling through a hole in the final sequence. Graphics are prettier, framerate is rock solid, and all that.

I'm not much into the Halo online experience (I seem to keep getting dragged back to Shadowrun for that, love the game, and great player community) but I'll give it a go soon.

I'm glad I saw the storyline wrap up, but am a little disappointed in the single player for 60$. Kind of glad I had to return two of the Limited Edition ones (due to scratched discs...) before saying screw it and picking up the regular box. Would have felt even better if I'd waited a day or two to pik it up for 52$ at Costco.

man if everybody made decisions based on magazine reviews, wonder where we would be now as a civilization...ponders. Some of my favorite games and movies are ones that got bad reviews. If you based not playing a game due to one specific source, then your not too open minded. Look at Gamefaqs.com, even the best and worst games have their fans and critics, one of the best things about the 360 is that most games have demos for you to judge for yourself.

As far as Halo goes, i've never really played it. I have Halo 1 but it bored me. and i've only played Halo 2 multiplayer, but if Halo 3 is as much fun as Halo 2 is online, then bet my ass I will be buying Halo 3, because Halo 2 is a fricking blast to play multiplayer. But I have other games I want to play and finish before I move to Halo 3.

Best I can tell Halo 3 looks like it'd be alot of fun online (with the right people). But the story really is short. I breezed on right thru it. At least Halo 1 and 2 took some time and had more of a storyline.

I say it's a bit of both.

I finished it on Normal in about 7 hours, so yeah, it's doable. I know someone else who did finish on Legendary already. He's pretty damn good at Halo, so that's no surprise. The game itself is pretty much massive, and has some damn hard fights in it. I'd easily rank it above halo and halo 2 on campaign and multiplayer, as it takes the best of both and builds from there. Also keep in mind that you can do 4 player co-op to beat these things, and even on legendary, it's not hard if you've got 4 people going through the game :P

Dug the story...it was an excellent conclusion. Also dug all the cameos from marines-Alan Tudyk, Adam Baldwin, Nathan Fillion, Katee Sackhoff, the red vs blue guys...good shit!

Also last I heard you can't mod a 360 and still have access to live.

If you beat Halo 3 on Legendary, you also get the Normal and Heroic achievements.

If you don't have live Gold you can still download Bungie favorites to play back in Theatre mode.

Also it does not record your deaths in story mode, only campaign mode. In story mode it removes all stuff between a checkpoint and death.
