problem with cartridge.

Recommended Posts

I bought Planet Smashers. I know I heard it isn't that good, but got it rather cheap. It was a little dirty when I got it. I went and cleaned it. THe game comes on and I get the Atari screen, but then I get nothing after that. I have never had this happen. Does anyone know what might be wrong?

I'd try cleaning the cartridge port with rubbing alcohol first.

you might need to 'seat' the cart a special way, some 7800's and certain carts are like that.

just turn it off and fiddle with it (after cleaning it with rubbing alchol and letting it dry compleatly) and turn it back on.

If none of that works, heat the label off and open the cart. Take a grounded soldering iron and re flow all the joints on the board. I do not know what special hardware, if any, Planet Smashers has. If there's a RAM chip, it could have bit the dust.

If it were dirty contacts, I think you'd have gotten it to load at least once. It sounds to me like the board itself needs a look.
