7800Lover #1 Posted September 30, 2007 No this isn't about the ailment; it's about the game. I've been playing the Atari 2600 port. Compared to the Apple II and Colecovision versions I've played, it's rather good. While graphically weak, the gameplay does stand up well. The character of Panama Joe (the hero) is a bit slower than the other games so it can be tricky to time jumps over obstacles or get through those dreaded laser force fields. Anyone else here like the 2600 Montezuma's Revenge game?
+Wonder007 #2 Posted September 30, 2007 It is one of my top ten games for the 2600. Very impressive for a 2600 game...

phuzzed #5 Posted September 30, 2007 i agree. I obtained this game about a year ago and was quite impressed. Very fun to play, sound quality is decent, and overall, a good game.

Atari Dogs #7 Posted October 1, 2007 Great game. It's definitely a must have. Did the hack of it, Tomb Raider 2600, ever get all the bugs worked out. I need that one on cart.
Atarifever #8 Posted October 1, 2007 I bought it last Christmas along with Smurf. That was two good picks in a row.
Opo Terser #9 Posted October 1, 2007 Yeah, I've been trying to get a cart of it for a while, but had no luck. I like the game, but I give up quickly as it's pretty hard.
Deteacher #10 Posted October 1, 2007 One of my most cherished finds in the wild. I can consistantly get through the first stage. I've almost completed the 2nd stage. I'm pretty sure I remember seeing somewhere (maybe right in these forums) a map of the 3 levels. So, if you're having trouble and need some guidance, you can search here or on the net for a copy of the maps. Great A2600 conversion, IMO!

Anyone else here like the 2600 Montezuma's Revenge game? Are you kidding me!!!! I had the colecovision verison back in the day... What a great game! many, many years past and i picked up 2600 Montezuma's Revenge for a song. Boy was I surprised when i played this on my 2600 when i got home! A fantastic port..... It feels like a game that should be beyond the 2600's capabilities. This game and Tapper feel like almost NES quality. High praise indeed. -rick
supercat #15 Posted October 4, 2007 It feels like a game that should be beyond the 2600'scapabilities. So does H.E.R.O., which is a respectable game even on higher-end platforms. What system was MR designed for?

Gregory DG #21 Posted October 5, 2007 Exactly! Nice... I could use that as a logo. But this game makes me think of it too. Oh, and to get the thread back on track... Has anyone beaten this game? Seems VERY tough!

What system was MR designed for? Montezuma's Revenge was first designed for the Atari 8-bit computers and then ported to about every other system and computer.
