mos6507 #26 Posted May 25, 2008 I wonder what happened to Steve Hendrickson. He did some of my favourite box art - Haunted House, Othello, Defender, Warlords. Same with Cliff Spohn, he did some cool stuff too. I've got something brewing that may satisfy part of your curiosity.
phuzzed #27 Posted May 25, 2008 it would be really cool if we could get in touch with some of these artists. I'd like to know some things like, how did they come up with the artwork? Did they talk with the programmers or was it strictly a marketing thing? It would also be cool if these guys had some unreleased artwork as well... As for favorite box Art, I was always a fan of H.E.R.O. from Activision (hence my avatar)... But, I remember Costmic Commuter having decent box art as well. Asteroids and Adventure were some of my favorites as well.

ratfink #29 Posted May 26, 2008 It would be great to be able to buy framed quality prints of this stuff. I know there's a ton of nostalgic guys like me out there who'd buy it. The demand is probably there but to do it all properly and legally so the artists get a share would probably be next to impossible. Atari (and Activision, et. al.) probably own the rights to this stuff, not the artists, and it's so old none of those companies really care anymore. +Allan #30 Posted May 26, 2008 I'd love to have some posters of Atari 5200 Baseball, Pole Position, Countermeasure and others. Allan
