A 2600 Story

Recommended Posts

My original 2600 from the early 80's (six-switch) has been sitting in a box in many parts for several years. I had a friend fix the power connector whcih had come loose and while he was at it, he added RCA A/V on it too. When I tried it later, all I got was the annoying flipping nonsense. So I put the 2600 away for about 5 years. :ponder:

Tonight, I cut the stupid wires to the A/V and went back to the RF... Absolute PERFECT reception! I also have a 4-port Vader 2600 another friend gave me and it's reception sucks. I guess having all the sheilding does make a difference after all! :P

My next project will be to fix the A/V to work correctly. For now, I'm just glad that the 2600 I played with as a kid is back to perfect working order again! ;)

Question: Can you have A/V and RF work at the same time? I guess I thought it was one or the other but not both...

??
