Albert #2 Posted October 3, 2007 Ooo, I need to check this out. ..Al
moycon #3 Posted October 3, 2007 I dont want to check it out, My "to play" list and "to get" are both HUGE as it is!! There's way too many quality title being released. I'm still working my way through Eternal Sonata, I was actually kinda glad my Halo 3 was scratched and had to be sent in for a replacement.
Atari5200 #4 Posted October 3, 2007 i thought the demo was pretty damn cool. the whole concept of shifting time was well done and makes for some unusual situations. probably not something I would buy day 1, maybe more of a bargain bin buy, but I still thought it was fun and unique. Shannon #5 Posted October 4, 2007 Demo looked cool but I wasn't the one playing it.
+remowilliams #6 Posted October 4, 2007 I really got a kick out of the demo, so I'll be picking this up on release. I loved the time rewind. Like moycon said though, too many great titles not enough time. It's a great problem to have as a gamer though, much better that than the other way around. Atari5200 #7 Posted October 4, 2007 ok, i retract my previous post, i played it again and this time actually spent the time to mess around with everything and, damn, this game is fantastic. The best thing ever is slowing down time, not pausing, then melee a guard and send them flying, while in mid air...shoot them in the face...frickin awesome. ManShowBoy #8 Posted November 2, 2007 Picking my copy up tonight. Did anyone else get it yet?
Lord Helmet #9 Posted November 3, 2007 Major Nelson's podcast this past week featured an interview with the lead guys behind the game. It sounds pretty good. I'll have to check out the demo.
Atari5200 #10 Posted November 5, 2007 turn the auto time shift off is my suggestion to anybody trying this, sometimes when the system picks what it thinks you should use, it's not the best option, i found myself pausing time when all i wanted to do was just slow it down. got annoying after a while. bloodreptile #11 Posted November 26, 2007 I have had it for about a week and think it is great. I am in to first person shooter with a sf angle so this game is right up my street. Of course i AM stuck on the test labs level and there are no walk throughs on the web so i cannot get any help....
Atari5200 #12 Posted November 26, 2007 I don't know about this game now. I'm currently playing through FEAR, and the demo of Timeshift I can see they definitely are using the same game engine. Well with that being said, I'm not too fond of FEAR, it gets boring real fast when you run through the same environments over and over again, the story progression is very slow, and there's only like 6 enemies that just repeat. FEAR got all kinds of praise and for what?? It makes me leary to want to spend $60 on another Sierra FPS.
bloodreptile #13 Posted December 10, 2007 After I completed the wind tunnel section I made my way through the rest of the game. It was an interesting variation on the alternative reality theory. I really enjoyed it. 8/10. I am now playing it on skilled.
+remowilliams #14 Posted December 27, 2007 (edited) So I got around to playing through Timeshift. Well, let's just say that its a really good thing that its basic FPS mechanics and mayhem are fun. Because that's really all you're going to get out of it. They totally blew a great chance at a great story, the game has literally like five minutes of disjointed plot. Enemy intelligence ranges from decent to drooling, and nearly all of the 'plot' driven uses of the nifty timesuit are really, really stupid lever pulls and button press timing things. You're seriously not going to tell me I need a bunch of levers/buttons, moving platforms, and a bajillion dollar time/space distorting physics smashing wonder suit to get over this four foot ledge! - Me yelling at the TV ingame. And then, at the end I was unceremoniously greeted by my old friend. Hello Remo, haven't seen you since Assassin's Creed! Gah, not you again! Well, the shooting and blowing up stuff and setting people on fire, stealing their weapons, beating them about the head while they stare slack jawed at you, etc. was fun enough till the end. It's a decent enough FPS, but a wasted chance on what could have been. Oh and paradox imminent my ass! Grrr! Atari5200 #15 Posted December 27, 2007 i figured as such, after playing through probably 5 or 6 hours of FEAR, I've had enough and probably will not finish it, extremely over rated game, and I wonder how this game won so many awards. And since Timeshift was made by the same people, I figured it would probably be much of the same and I stayed away, too bad, demo was fun.
bloodreptile #16 Posted December 27, 2007 I beat skilled and now I am on Elite this is a fantastic game.... 9/10 and it took me longer than a day to beat it. Unlike that pile of over rated trash call of duty four......
Shannon #17 Posted December 28, 2007 Shhh you might attract all the COD4 defenders.
