lucifershalo #1 Posted October 8, 2007 does someone make pro labels to replace the ones I have damaged?
Deteacher #2 Posted October 8, 2007 I've made some repro labels for my own collection. They're not 100% perfect (especially the one-piece kind that wrap over the end, like Activision and PB titles.) I concede to having a space between the main label and the end label, but it's better than no label at all. Here's what I do: 1. Search the AA or the Atarimania database for the label you need. Both have pretty decent label scans. 2. Right click on the label you need and "save picture as." 3. Save the picture wherever you can easily access it. 4. Open up the label with Paint or photo editing software of your choice (I'm not too picky, so I use Paint.) 5. Resize your image to fit on your cartridge. It might require a few tries to get it to get the exact size. Print out the test image on regular copy paper. I'd also recommend setting your printer to the lowest quality settings, to conserve ink/toner. 6. Once you have the size correct, load a piece of photo, or glossy paper into your printer, set your print quality to it's highest setting and print. 7. Clean your cartridge of the old label, as well as any old adhesive. Dry completely. 8. Cut out your new label and apply it to your cartridge with a glue stick. Now, I know that some of you can do an IMMENSELY better job than what I do. For me, this method suits me well. Most of my repro labels are only end labels anyway. I'll be more than happy to post some pics of my work. It's not perfect, but it works for my needs. Hope this helps.
lucifershalo #3 Posted October 8, 2007 hey, thanks4 yes you are right it is not pro but like you said it would be good enough for me too glue stick is enough to make photo or glossy paper stick? do you print different labels on one A4 page? thanks for the tips
Brian R. #4 Posted October 8, 2007 This reminds me of the online label maker. What I couldn't understand about that was it produces labels that are too large for the carts, which didn't make any sense to me. I don't think resizing should be necessary as we're dealing with one standard size here. But, if I were to try to resize, does anyone know what the dimensions are? I wish I could take credit for the idea, but it's not mine. I got the idea from Lord Thag in a previous thread. Credit goes to him! Here are a couple pics of some of my work. The first one is of the main labels. The second is just end labels. I'm very proud of "I Want My Mommy." That one came out the best, IMO. Enjoy! I don't think resizing should be necessary as we're dealing with one standard size here. Label generated by the Online Label Maker are the correct size IF you print them at the same resolution they are created for (150 or 360dpi depending on what you selected). If you use a different resolution then you have to resize them. But, if I were to try to resize, does anyone know what the dimensions are? main label: 2.74 x 3.42 inch top label: 2.74 x 0.53 inch moltiply each value for the resolution (dpi) to obtain the dimensions (pixels) of the images you need. For example for 300dpi you obtain: main label: 822 x 1026 pixels top label: 822 x 159 pixels
ninermaniac #7 Posted October 15, 2007 The online label maker is awesome. I have tried it and made quite a few labels. Very efficient.
theking21083 #8 Posted October 16, 2007 I also was impressed with the results of the labels I made with the label maker. The only problem is you can only make text and pic labels.
