toymailman #1 Posted October 8, 2007 I have recently aquired some Microvision handheld systems. They, of course, each have screen rot to some degree or another. Does anyone know if they can be fixed? If not, then does anyone know where a replacement screen can be found? I would not mind a modern replacement either so long as it works/compatible. The screen is 16x16 pixels and is about 2" square. Thank you for any help.
Video #2 Posted October 9, 2007 I don't think there is an equivilant screen out there, though in high enough numbers, I'm sure you could have some made though (but that would NOT be cheap) I doubt it's fixable either, but that might be dependant, if you are simply getting a few missing pixels or lines, it might just be a bad connection, and cleaning the connection and reassembling it would probably work (gotta do that with a lot of DMG gameboys) but if the pixels are physically damaged, it's not fixable as far as I know. Bill Brasky #3 Posted October 9, 2007 They don't all have screen rot. Mine was perfect.
toymailman #4 Posted October 10, 2007 Thanks for responding. Yeah, some have stood the test of time, but most have died. I have 4 now and three have completely black screens and one has buildup in the bottom corners. I have taken them apart and cleaned all the contacts, but still no luck getting the screens back. If anyone else has any suggestions of where to go let me know. Thanks again guys!
