roland p #1 Posted October 10, 2007 Hi all, I just bought my first vectex! My sister got it from a market for 30 euro's (that's about 42 dollar) It came with the following games (together with books and those transparent sheets): - Starhawk - Scramble - Fortress of Nazrod - Starship - Cosmic Chasm Good deal I think!? The graphics looks razor-sharp and everything moves so fluent! I don't understand why this was never succesful. It's like having a small arcade cabinet. SRGilbert #4 Posted October 10, 2007 Good deal I think!? Yeah, it's a good deal. Is there an emoticon that says "I'm a petty, jealous bastard, and I hate you?"

theking21083 #6 Posted October 10, 2007 What a steal! I just got my Vectrex about 2 months ago and I love it. Like mentioned before you should get a mulicart or even better get a VecFlash. The VecFlash is all that I need for my Vectrex gaming needs and it saved me alot of time and money from having to buy all of the games seperate. Do the majority of home brew Vectrex releases get a .bin image release on the 'net as well, or are there some cartridge only exclusives?

Their are alot of cartridge only games but there are still alot of good homebrews with a .bin for you to download. I think I have about 20 homebrews on my VecFlash. MFoolsRun #9 Posted October 11, 2007 I see a number of Vectrexes on eBay for what I would consider really cheap; how much should one expect to pay for a bare system?
roland p #10 Posted October 11, 2007 Thanks everybody! A vecflash will be nice! It looks like the Multicart is hard to find. @MFoolsRun, A few years ago she found another one, without games etc. for 10 euro (14$) ! She didn't buy it, so I said: next time, just buy it!! maibock #11 Posted October 11, 2007 No no no! Whatever you do, don't get a vecflash or multicart. It'll ruin the whole experience for you. Trust me on this, since I got a vecflash and played 30 some odd games in a flurry of about 20 minutes, it spoiled the whole system for me. It now sits in the basement along side the Christmas tree stand.. You have a nice collection to start with there. Enjoy them.. savor them.. get the most out of those games.. then perhaps think about getting another.
theking21083 #12 Posted October 11, 2007 It won't ruin the experience to get a VecFlash. I still enjoy buying the games that I like for it and since I know what games to avoid I won't be spending money on them.

+remowilliams #16 Posted October 14, 2007 Congrats, there really is something extra special about the Vectrex. As far as multicarts, I've got one and the awesome Vecflash cart. Hasn't ruined a thing for me, and sure makes playing that much more convenient!
