Possible to get Virtual Boy rubber/foam eye part?

Hi,

Is it possible/likely that I'd be able to find a replacement rubber/foam (whatever it's made of) Virtual Boy eye-shroud thingie? I really don't know the word for it. It's the part that blocks out the surrounding light when you're looking into the VB. I'm looking at one that doesn't have this piece and I'm wondering what the likelihood of acquiring one after the fact might be.

Oof. While I was waiting and researching this, the auction ended (I could have sworn I had more time!). Oh'well, better to know for next time than to be stuck with half a system. Thanks for the replies!

Do you want to replace an existing one, or did you buy a VB without one to begin with? If the latter is the case, then you should know that there's also piece that the foam shielding connects to, and which subsequently snaps onto the Virtual Boy. Without that piece, the foam shielding is useless.

 

For what it's worth, the foam shielding has a part number VUE-010, and the snap-on eye-piece has a part number VUE-012.

Thanks for the part numbers. Basically I was wondering if it's possible to get the eyeshield (and snap-on thingie) separately, which opens up the range of Virtual Boys I can look at
